but it's kind of a pain to sort through them all, even around the release date of the game.

I wish there was a wiki that listed the exact contents of magazines like this.

Went ahead and downloaded/cropped em for posterity's sake.
Used to stare at these drawings for hours at a time as a kid. Some of these are so random though, that Im sorta thinking NP just had the stock art and threw them in the Double Dragon 3 article.

EDIT: there is one more as well but for some reason it won't upload so oh well.

posting to say i love this interpretation art. it really did well to fill in my imagination as i stared at little pixels on these old games. they're probably the biggest reason i had kept a sub to nintendo power in the later half of the 80s.

it really is the opposite of concept art, because that always leaves me disappointed at what we did end up getting (most of the time).

The later stuff reminds me of Shunya Yamashita's style.

http://turntoch3.com/megashock/gallery/4_terra_game_works/

People were talking about my gallery a while ago. It's still there but it's not linked anywhere on the site. I have some stuff I could add to it from his Rakugaking and Virtua Fighter books but I'd have to destroy them in the process. I'll probably have to buy a bunch of those page protector things to put the pages in after I melt the binding. Rakugaking is insane by the way you should get it.

His Nintendo Power illustrations were magical. For instance one time he made Zen Intergalactic Ninja seem like it had a cool world.

Don't remind me of that awful game. It was Konami's NES let down in my childhood. It looked and sounded par with their production values, then it does a complete nosedive once you sit down to play. I couldn't beat a single level, trust me, I gave it my all. Maybe I could vanquish the bad taste using Game Genie at this age, but why would I want to do that? The only edge it has over similar eco theme crap is a purple ninja.
