For one, it's battery is shot to Hell and fails on me whenever I try to do anything vaguely strenuous on the computer. And that's okay, get a new one, right? Sure, once I have the money.
But now the screen seems to be getting progressively worse. There are lines going through it vertically, and new ones popping up. I can't very well degauss a laptop screen (can I?), so I don't know what to do about this. _________________

Have you tried keeping it off for a moderately long period of time? If you use it daily, or even leave it always on, maybe there's your problem? I'm not sure if what I'm saying makes any sense, though, it's just an idea. _________________ The Ants Parade. |

Yeah, I keep it plugged in too when I'm using it, but if I push it, the battery starts draining and doesn't take into account it's plugged in or anything. I need to reboot it. _________________

yeah, this happened to me with my old laptop - the vertical lines shit. if i sort of massaged the back of the screen the right way it got back to normal, though. i think this happens because of something in the way the screen is held together coming loose. i am mostly pulling this out of my ass.
that laptop still works, though, as far as i know. i just don't use it because, you know, it's a 120mhz pentium. 16 megabytes of ram.
my current laptop has a much more annoying problem - the fucking usb ports don't really work. i have to keep jiggering the cord and repositioning the laptop and all kinds of bullshit if i want to do something simple like plug my ipod in. it's bullshit. |

apparently you need to store them li-ion batteries 40% charged and in a fridge to prevent massive capacity loss. i lolled. |
