Toto, I dunno how it is in Australia, but in the US gentile whites are not the top economic tier. East Asians, South Asians (though not so much Southeast Asians) and Jews make more dough, while blacks and Hispanics make less.

Taking the old approach to racism (white people need to stop using bad names for minorities, etc. etc.) is pretty useless and unhelpful. There is still racism, but it is because people are ignorant or don't care about unfair conditions for blacks and Hispanics.

Racism is more of power relations than actual hatred of specific races based on physical features. In the past when African Americans were denied rights and were considered scientifically inferior to whites, it was probably rare to find an African American who could be considered racist. Now that minorities are becoming more socially mobile than they ever have been (still not the level of whites, and they most likely never will be, atleast not in our lifetime), cases of African American and Asian people displaying blatant racism or stereotypical biases towards less socially mobile minority groups, such as Hispanic/Latino ethnic groups, are starting to show up.

If you're talking about old school racism (insulting other races and beating them up), blacks and Latinos have far surpassed whites. I've had both black and Latino friends tell me they were worried about being attacked by the other race, whereas I've never heard one say they were afraid of whites.

On the other hand, new school racism (not knowing how bad inner city schools are and other factors that disadvantage blacks) is common among whites and Asian-Americans.
