The problem with calling white people racist and asserting that nothing they could do would ever stop them being racist, is that they adopt the term openly and live up to it's full potential.

It's like telling asians that they're good with math.

Erm... Right, right, that's called the Law of Unintended Consequences, and calling whites racist make them racist, and calling asians good at math makes them... join the drama club?

Well, okay, I'll be serious and stop picking on the asians. I live in the Bronx, and I'm a white guy, so I basically know first hand what racism is, and what it's like being on both sides, as benefiting from it, and being the victim of it.

A good example of this would be dealing with the DMV. It's something we all routinely have to deal with. Well, bluntly put, your trip to the Bronx based DMV offices and the ease or difficulty of the process all depends on your race and the race of the DMV employee you have to deal with. I'm not exaggerating or trying to put a bad light on things, but documents and examinations do end up going through heavier scrutiny when race becomes a factor. A small tear in your Birth Certificate can suddenly be a reason to deny it as a legal document.

So, yes, I agree, it is a bad thing when institutional.
