|
|
Well, with the impending purchase of an Xbox 360, I'd like to buy a new TV so I can appreciate the games I'll be playing. I want to future proof also, which means a TV that can display 1080p.
LCD or Plasma? What brands are good? Budget is an issue; the cheaper the better, but preferably something that is simaltaneously cheap and good (doesn't exist right?).
Help me out SB I don't know where else to ask. |

the latest HD TV thread has a bunch of stuff in it but the recommended retailers are all in the US D:
huh I thought there was another HD TV thread oh well
Personally I want to solve my HD viewing dilemma by getting an iMac and figuring out a way to plug an Xbox360 into it somehow _________________

I recommend against it because I will feel a strong urge to book a flight and go kick your arse at Gears/Halo at your place _________________

And if you don't get one of those high definition power hoggers I'll be tempted to get a flight and cane your arse at Virtua Fighter. _________________ MYSTERY ADVENTURE START.. |

| Size and budget are good starting places. What are your ideals? |

| 40 inch is just right for me. Smaller is good, bigger is not preferred. I take it that a TVs size is measured diagnolly, across the face of the TV? Budget...well, ideally I'd like to spend about roughly US2000 but I know this is a pipe dream, especially as TVs are more expensive here than in the US. |

| I have a Toshiba 37C3000P (1366 Panel, no FullHD) and I'm pretty happy with it. |

This looks pretty much exactly like my TV, except that one's more expensive, so it's probably a newer model. The model I have has pretty crappy built-in speakers though. That's the only complaint I have about it. |

the best advice I can give you is to research the model you are interested in on www.avsforums.com
you will be sure to find every last flaw the TV has down to the most minute detail... it's pretty rough, but it'll help you weed out the obviously terrible choices. _________________
