| If it's still functional, is there any reason why you can't just plug it into the IDE connector of your new PC's motherboard, and copy the data over using Windows Explorer? (or just leave it in as a permanent secondary hard drive) |

XP and Vista use the exact same filesystem, no worries there.
I've always copied over my old stuff when I get a new PC. Even when there is a filesystem change, new operating systems are still able to read the old ones. I have files from the 80s on here. |
