Unfortunately I have no internet. Haven't had it for 14 days today. We just moved, and when the tech came out he was like LOL, we gotta call in an order to put in lines! It'll take like a week and a half! Watch for them, they'll eff up your yard and stuff. Then call us and we'll be out in two days to do the in-house wiring.
So we called them up say, yesterday, and we're told 14-21 days. I don't recall if they said business days or not, but man, that would be something like 21-28 days in reality time, wouldn't it?
Arg.
Mind you, if I could, I'd be doing FIOS right now. Unfortunately it's not in my area yet.
I've googled trying to figure out if there's some kind of social engineering trick you can do to get them to work faster, other than know people. Which would be nice, too.
But all that came up is an article about Comcast blowing up someone's house accidentally. That's really comforting.
PS: Give me fun things to do having no internet. Learning Sony Vegas really isn't all that fun. I will read it on my phone and not be able to reply, except with my mind, from which I will send you thankful thoughts. |

In response to the actual topic of the thread, I have only some maudlin 18th century poetry to contribute.

Unhappy He! who, from first of Joys,
Society, cut off, is left alone,
Amid this world of Death. |

Assuming that you can still use your computer, look around on your hard drive. Maybe you'll find some neat things you forgot about, or a game you can play for a while. _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

Make a puddle of water on the pavement, then draw a chalk outline around it three times in one-hour intervals.

Thank you guys for the insightful list of things to do. I tried killing everyone, but it was hard. I don't think it's possible to kill everyone on the planet all at once without blowing up the world or something, and even then, some of you people might escape in your space rockets from the future.
So, that's not happening.
I do not have God Hand, but I'm pretty sure that's a word filter for something else.
I would learn the clavichord, but I'd have to actually research what that is... ON THE INTERNET. Oh noes.
I've been going through my HD and such. I actually bought The Wire series 4 yesterday, and have gotten through episode 3 so far. Apparently the guy who sold me my house is also an actor and he's in one of the episodes of this season as a cop, so I need to check that out.
In the good news, people came out and spraypainted a line across my snow and put up a bunch of flags to mark where they're running the lines, so at least that's promising. Somehow when the snow melted, the orange lines transferred to the grass. I don't know how this is, but it must be some kind of magical orange.
Maybe, just maybe, I will return soon.
P.S.: I quite enjoyed your poetry, Adi. |
