hi, guys-
i might be trying to take a months-long trip across europe, this coming summer. seeing the sights and all of that; i'm not planning to stay in this country once i graduate, and with my immaculate (read: broken conversational) french and chinese, i figure why not starting shopping around for someplace to settle.
if i got one of those 5-borders, 5-nights, good-for-two-months rail europe passes, could i crash on some SB couches? this is probably going to be a strictly "western europe and the UK" affair, and i know at least a few of you are in the area, so i figured - in the name of this forum giving me quite a lot, all told - why not ask. |

Seconding couchsurfing, but I don't know if people who aren't American make much use of Craigslist.
If you go to Rome I can tell you where the good (some free) cinemas, and restaurants and stuff are. I guess. _________________ MYSTERY ADVENTURE START.. |

Well, the craigslist stuff isn't free but it's pretty easy to stay in a spare room with bathroom in a nice apartment in a fancy part of Rome with breakfasts included for about $40/day in the off-season which beats a hostel, particularly if you're traveling with a SO. |

Oh, that sounds good. So you found that sort of arrangement? I sure as hell never did. I think a private room in a hostel there is about 30 euro a night... I can't remember. But hostels put me off; better for finding drinking buddies rather than getting to know a place. _________________ MYSTERY ADVENTURE START.. |
