How do you feel about the lyric "we can dress real neat from out HATS to our feet and suprise 'em with our victory cry" - from the Safety Dance, by the motherfucking Men WITHOUT Hats (emphasis mine)? What were they going for there huh? I mean is it part of the suprise? Say, in addition to their victory cry, suprise fuckers, hats on the god damned men without hats, you might as well hang it up, hell has froze over, the men without hats are wearing hats, the dead are rising, the moon has turned blood red like they talked about in ghostbusters, Heimdall is blowing his horn on the rainbow bridge somewhere, it's over.

For about six or seven years now I've pondered on this matter and I'm still without answers. Maybe they only started wearing hats once they discovered that secret construction site night club mentioned in "we built this city," it would be pretty irresponsible if they didn't. But maybe they're included in the group being called "irresponsible and being written off the page", because they did indeed show up without the proper saftey headgear. Maybe the page they're being wrote off of is the guest list, who knows.
