HELLO SB
i smell
no, see, i'm actually quite an odorless guy, especially (i have learned by comparison) in the foot region. HOWEVER- my torso has an unpleasant tendency to get very sweaty, and this has the unfortunate effect of granting any t-shirt of mine a shelf life of at most two years and change (being worn 3 times a month on average) before the armpits are just too fetid to keep on keepin' on.
i am wondering, my fellows, what your respective deodorant solutions are. |

Regular Speedstick works for me.
Also, depending on your wardrobe, you might consider buying two pairs of the same shirt with you if you anticipate getting gross. When you're done with whatever's making you sweat (work or just being in humidity) you can find a public bathroom, pull the duplicate shirt out of your bag, and swap them out.
Though, if you take this route, I also recommend putting your sweaty shirt in a grocery bag to help keep the inside of your bag from getting mildewed. _________________

| another problem is that most deodorants ruin shirts as well. so I wear whit V-neck shirts underneath my regular shirts to protect my shirts from this. it works pretty well. I use Old Spice High Endurance Soft Solid. |

| There are prescription strength deodorants, I know there is a brand for ladies that is prescription strength over the counter. I am not too sure about the mens but I would suggest asking a dermatologist (I suppose this is who you go to about these kinds of things neh?) about different kinds of deodorants to use. |

Felix listen to me. This was recommended to me by a co-worker back when I was a salesman, and everyone in the store used it 'cause we were all honestly pretty stinky:
Mitchum.
They sell it pretty much everywhere, it's just less high-profile than some of the other deodorants. Their tagline is "So powerful you could skip a day", to which we often ammended "And we do!" Stuff is the best damn deodorant ever. _________________

A couple of caveats about Mitchum though.
First, it's an anti-perspirant. Or at least it was when they were using the slogan "So powerful you could skip a day". Anti-perspirants are notable because they function just as you'd expect they would, they clog your sweat glands. Which can be a problem if you're working too hard and the sweat isn't there to cool you off.
Second, it has an anti-bacterial component to it.
On the bright side though, it is supposed to work really frickin' good. _________________ I can no longer shop happily. |

Old Spice High Endurance Original Scent here.
If you're talking about button-down shirts, you really should be wearing an undershirt with them. People who don't wear undershirts with their dress shirts include greasy Italian mobsters and archnerds who wear silk bowling shirts. This is not a demographic you want to be a part of. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

Oops. I never wear an undershirt when I wear button-down shirts. Which is quite often. They aren't silk and don't have dragons or anime characters on them though! |

| I don't understand how someone can wear a dress shirt without an undershirt. Isn't it see-through for you? |

Could you elaborate on 'fancy clothes', I wear dress shirts that aren't tissue-thin and aren't much of a wasitcoat + peacoat kind of man

psiga- i'm not sure that'd actually save the shirts themselves from harm, actually.
also, re: dress shirts making a person hot, that's why i wasn't at all crazy about the perpertual-undershirt idea mentioned at the beginning of the thread. i do not like having to wear much clothing on a hot day. |

Depends on whether it's the moisture or the bacteria that's killing the shirts. But yeah, this is not an antiperspirant, just an antibacterial deodorant. _________________

OTOH, most environments where you're required to dress nice are climate controlled. |

Try this.

just throwing my dice in here but putting some unscented baby powder on your pits after putting on the deodorant helps. _________________
