how do people wear a vest/undershirt and a dress shirt, don't you get hot as hell?

Could you elaborate on 'fancy clothes', I wear dress shirts that aren't tissue-thin and aren't much of a wasitcoat + peacoat kind of man
Felix alternate suggestion: move somewhere with a cooler climate
