not really. many of kyle's songs i find boring. Light Green Leaves is a really solid album though. he's like devandra if devandra had talent (voice/songwriting).

i've been listening to Thanksgiving's The Ghost and the Eyes With Trees in the Ground Outside the Window and Cave Days and Moments aaaand their excellent self titled album for a few days now, along with some Adrian Orange and Her Band's newest one...can't remember the album's name (maybe self titled). All of which makes me fairly happy.

i heard someone bumping Radiohead's new one, and delighted in a few snide comments with a friend about it. that made me happy too. really though, it didn't sound half bad, perhaps even approaching "okay," in a "completely forgettable background noise" kind of way. *

* i listened to half of one song before removing the young gentleman's ipod from the stereo input chord.

ajutla you are funny man. the new album was at least good enough to make me completely indifferent towards them, rather than out and out dislike them. rock that shit man.

adrian orange's bitches is lord is the the best album he's ever written, and one of the best albums i've heard in my short, weak ass life.

i can upload it if anyone want it. i also have welcome nowhere, which is harder to find (really hard, if you want to pay money); which i could also upload if anyone shows interest. it's no swv, but it's good.

also, t. rex

really, you'll probably hate it...though you might love it. there's no in between with thanksgiving/adrian. give it an honest listen (all the way through) and see.

cool beef, i'd love that on vinyl as well. i am jealous of your anoint vinyl. great album.

i found out the other day that the Liars will be coming through these parts on feb. 25. it'll be ten bucks at this shitty place called the clubhouse; though it's better than paying twenty-plus, and the drinks will be cheap. can't wait.

yeah, it's actually on the 20th, with No Age. ten dollars, heh. i wonder what kind of crowd will show up for it, it's a really strange choice of venue. very college bro friendly, tasteless paper bag of a place. should be interesting.

last year i made a little two hour road trip to see Animal Collective in Tuscon. this was shortly after they released Strawberry Jam, and was an amazing show. i have a man crush on Panda Bear :3 watching him play the shit out of the drums while standing is FUN.

listened to mount eerie's mount eerie pts. 6 & 7 a couple times today. i really liked it; not so much as a follow-up to the microphones' mount eerie (don't really think that album needed any more resolution than it presented), it's just a good album. earth-y drones, pink floyd-esque aural landscapes, and mr. elvrum.

i can upload it for anyone who might be interested in listening to it without spending eighty dollars for the 10"/picture book! man, i want that picture book.

been listening to D+'s No Mystery, Dirty Projectors' Rise Above, Fuck Buttons' Street Horrrsing (so good), Legendary Pink Dots' Chemical Playschool Volume 8, Growing's Vision Swim (if you like Black Dice, check this out), and Man Man's Six Demon Bag lately.

I have not heard Growings - Vision Swim. But I am listening to their album "Lateral" and its amazing. Less like Black Dice, more like Fuck Buttons but with less noise/abrrasive sounds. Plenty of build up, more pleasant drones, that have a victorious sound. Especially the first track.

this sounds great, i'll definitely check it out beef.

i've been listening to excepter's tank tapes and debt dept for a few days now. both are really good.

been listening to Half Japanese's Our Solar System. sounds like a weird, rough mix of young daniel johnston and velvet underground. if that doesn't work for you, try it out anyway, it's worth a shot.

xasthur's telepathic with the desceased is a good album. tops any black metal that ever came out of norway. a gate through bloodstained mirrors is also really good.

recently picked up a record player (it has a tube amp built into it..vintage shit) and listened to black sabbath's master of reality. good times.

the record player has inputs, so it can be used as an amp too. the natural distortion it creates is a thing of beauty. i'll post pics soon.

hell yeah tim. the things got a tempo knob, and plays any size record. last night i put on side 2 of pink floyd's meddle, slowed it down, and threw down some wicked wind-jam solos with it. so nice. it's a newcomb tr-1640, pretty sure it was made in the sixties. here are some pics

the speakers clip together for carrying ease, and are surprisingly light for the sound they produce

i got if from an old man across the street, he and his wife had a yard sale going. he used to be a square dance caller. i picked up a few weird square dance 45 too. the front, top:

he also hooked me up with the mics he used for calling. i haven't done any looking around to see what's up with these things. they sound great though, really nice heavy vintage stuff:

i've been listening to a lot of little wings (and be gulls) lately too. really dig "the wonder city."

these sound great, i'll check them out. i was talking specifically about noise, or anything incorporating it (drone, repetition). thanks.

listening to Krallice's self-titled debut. members include Mick Barr (octis, orthrelm, ocrilim) on guitar/vocals, Colin Marston (dysrhythmia, behold...the arctopus) on guitar/bass, and Lev Weinstein (bloody panda) on drums. really well-balanced (atmosperic/technical) black metal.
