I'm mostly listening to Talking Heads a lot. In fact I am listening to Psycho Killer right now! _________________

I can't stop listening to the Shins' first album. It's starting to annoy my cat. _________________

I like that Husker Du was named thanks to a mildly botched cover of "Psycho Killer." _________________

I really like Nick Drake's album Pink Moon, like, a lot. Soft, understated. Absolutely beautiful. He had a great voice.
I dig the way it was recorded, too:

Nice stuff to listen to when lying in bed, or zoning out. Or, naturally, zoning out from the comfort of your bed. Or drinking tea and staring out the window. Of course, any/all of these activities would have to take place early in the morning, between 1 and 3 AM I'd imagine. It's a night album. _________________

sweet, I am a huge Byrne+Eno fan.
that announcement video was pretty much as weird as I expected it to be!

| Also the MGMT album is nice but is also kind of wobbly for me since there's only two or three songs I really like. |
Agreed. I'm glad I have it if only because "Electric Feel" is FUCKING AMAZING _________________

Went to see Tom Morello ("The Nightwatchman") at Larkfest in Albany yesterday, and had a most enjoyable time. Rowdy crowd, loud music blaring. We were like ten feet from the stage.
I was never really enamored by RATM or Nightwatchman but I really enjoyed the show. The band, "Freedom Fighter Orchestra", rocked pretty fuckin' hard - harder than I'd expected, based on what little I'd heard of Tom's Nightwatchman stuff.
Tom himself was awesome, making jokes and talking to the audience and generally looking like he was having as much of a blast as anyone there. Of course he made all sorts of political activist statements (duh, it's Tom Morello) but it never came off as overly preachy and (refreshingly) he doesn't seem to be pushing for a specific candidate - just general awareness.
Also, to be all "game geek" for a moment, seeing the dude you have played as in Guitar Hero, playing his signature guitar ("Arm the Homeless") is a pretty excellent geek-out. _________________

Apparently their name previously was "Management". And so the plot thickens.
Honestly "Electric Feel" is the only song I've really warmed up to so far. I really, really dig it though. I like "Time to Pretend" okay but there's an older version (off an EP by that title) I like a little better. Murkier vocals, less noticeable drums, kind of a weirder, "swampier" sound.
Not sure what you're implying about them - do you think they're fake or something? _________________

Aw shit, is that Naive Melody? I love that song so much. Definitely my favorite Talking Heads song. Which, you know. That's hard to choose. _________________
