If the sports shows were to believed, everyone in America wanted "history to be made" during the game and for the Pats to win.

But it seemed to me that almost all of America wanted them to lose.

Kind of amazing to see, though in a way it isn't; this season the Pats just didn't have that old "humble team play" feel. They always seemed like cocky, arrogant bastards regardless of whether they were, and their decision to go for it on 4th and 13 is perhaps what sums that all up.

I am always happy to see Bill Belicheck lose. He was part of the whole 'let's make the browns awful so that we can make more money by moving them' campaign, and yeah, fuck him.

I have to agree with you though, taidan, in that I didn't know anyone who wanted to pats to win, at all. Like, people who didn't even watch football didn't want them winning.

I feel as if the disdain for the Patriots was not merely due to the fact that they won so much; no matter how much some claimed that this was still the humble, united team that won the last few years, it simply wasn't true. A team still no doubt, but the Pats just bled arrogance during the season, and showed their true colors last night. Belichick's leaving the field quickly, players inviting Giants members to their clelebratory party's before the G-Men scored. They felt perfect and invincible, the idea of a loss was foreign to them.

And then Brady was put in the same spot that so many other QB's were in against New England. They just couldn't do it.
