|
|
Maybe it's not appropriate for me to do this... but since probably not everyone here reads Rock, Paper, Shotgun, and since Introversion is the kind of company we can all get behind, I thought some of you might be qualified and interested in this. Note that recent graduates with no prior experience in the game industry are eligible. It sounds like, if you are proficient in C++ and are interested enough in games to know who Introversion are, you've got as much chance as anybody. Also, this is the kind of company where you could write a passionate letter and have it really count, I think. If I could code, I'd be applying for this.
So here's the text:
Video Game Programmer
Background
Introversion Software is looking for an experienced programmer to join our existing team of eight. We are looking for a quality (recent graduates will also be considered), all-round programmer proficient in C++ who is happy to work in all areas of game programming. Whilst a history within the video games industry is preferred, it is not a requirement. However, a love of games will definitely help!
Specific Role
We are searching for a quality programmer willing to assist with all areas of our projects. Initially the work will involve joining the existing Multiwinia project team and preparing the title for launch. Following this we have a number of game projects in development and we will work to find the project and area of interest to the candidate. This job is perfect for any existing programmers who wish to break into the gaming industry or for game industry vets who wish to spread their wings and have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of systems and tasks.
Contract Type
Various: Full time employment or up to six months short-term contract.

London
Other Benefits
We are located in London Bridge, however we support home working and are flexible with the hours required in the office.

Fuck, It would be crazy but I could be on this.
Actually, no, since I'm not exactly proficient in C++
It shouldn't be too hard to learn if you already know C and Java would it? _________________ Guayaba 2600 |

Flackon, C++ is C with a bit of syntactic sugar. If you know OO from Java, you can program C++. Read the Stroustrup book, it is good and comes in Español _________________

They say as much. Unless you mean current students. In that case, I don't see how you'd be able to take the job. Also, an incomplete college degree might not be helpful. |

Well, it says they'll consider 6 month freelancers. I'm willing to take time off of school if it means that Introversion will make another great game! |
