stotelheim, you are my official dogg now, just because you have love for Black.

Black was great in that mechanic for killing guys, because it made you focus all the time on getting headshots, which did two awesome things. One was that in focusing on head shots, you got to feel like a motherfucking badass because you were walking into rooms, peeling off like five shots and downing like five dudes. they let you get that going and then they threw the shotgun mofos at you who had those masks, so the headshot was harder, but still doable.

Oh, and they made everything red explode.

And there was a lot of red stuff.

Stotelheim, if you come to kentucky E3 thing we will have to play some black on the xbox with the team america soundtrack playing or something. We will not play it on the 360 because the soundtracks don't work right. I will bring the xbox.

Or Andrew WK. God he works well for Black.

damn dude, let's do just a bunch of that in kentucky, i figure i'm going to be hanging around for like a week since it's silly to fly all those miles just for a party when you can make it into more of a long gathering style thing

are you down for something a bit longer? 'cause that'd be one hell of a time. especially if we can convince tim to rent an escalada, total ray smuckles-style

also: are you down with my statement that black is a spiritual sequel to goldeneye?

and how's goose doing? he seemed to take a small amount of offense to the next level shenanigans that were going down, i sent him a PM about it but he hasn't read it, so i'm a bit worried about the state of our eniggaship

Ah, sorry about not responding to the PM stotelheim, I didn't even realize I had one.

And don't worry about the goings on too much, I just get a little pissy sometimes with competitive games. When the ones doing the trash talking clearly have the upper hand (I believe we were playing 4 vs 3 that time) it really gets under my skin, regardless of which team I am on. I just needed some time to cool off.

It didn't help that the night prior to that incident Booji and I met a racist asshole in Lost Planet multiplayer. It was the kind of situation where, had you met in person, there would have been a really big fight 2 seconds into the conversation.

Well, in our defence I'd like to say that Team Next Level was more about aggrandizing ourselves than it was about degrading the other guys. And I think we balanced out the teams pretty much right after you left? As there were 7 of us at most times I alternated teams quite a bit, but in general things worked out fine and dandy I feel.

Also did you use the player feedback thing on the racist guy? I've been playing around with it a bit, which I admit is a bit passive-aggressive, but if this thing works and keeps bad people out of our games then I figure it's worth it.

I understand that you guys weren't doing it maliciously, but I still didn't find it to be very sporting. Like I said, it gets under my skin and it gets under quick. I'm sure you guys would have switched up the teams soon, perhaps the next match even, but I don't think that would have stopped the Next Level stuff (Again like I said, I don't like being on either team when that stuff is going on.) And I figured if I left that would even things up.

Basically I don't get mad very often (at least I don't think I do) but when I do it happens really quick and it takes me a long time to deal with it.

And yeah, I left bad feedback as well as filed a complaint against the guy ("ExceedTheLimit" and some numbers after his name) but it's still really hard for me to just let it go. Racism is kind of one of my anger triggers.

Anyhow, sorry I missed that night on saturday for the Gears goodness. I was playing lots of wrasslin', making wrasslers out of all my homies. it was good shit.

Anyhow, as for the Black/Goldeneye comparison, I agree with it. Even though I didn't play a lot of Goldeneye dude to not having a 64 and being a PC FPS snob at the time. But yeah, the whole objective revisions and such is something I really hadn't seen since TimeSplitters 2. Black had a lot more EXPLOSIONS as well.

So yes, nE3 will have many hours of the Black. I am not sure how long I will be down there (financial reasons and such) but I will definitely be there for a bit stotelheim and there will be Black. Yes.

I think it was Saturday night that I was playing Lost Planet online for a bit and one douche just kept calling people "gay." So I finally started questioning him “why is he gay?”
“Because he killed me when I couldn’t shoot back!”
“So how does that make him ‘gay’?”
“Because he’s a fucking fag for doing it!”
“What makes one person gay for killing another person online in a videogame?”
“What the hell is your problem! Only faggots do that shit!”
“I don’t see how having sex with someone of the same gender has anything to do with this.”
“What? No I just called him a fucking fag. “
“So what are you insinuating with that?”
“Shut the fuck up you fucking fag.”
At this point I attempted to continue the questioning and he began to cite shit like “he probably listens to Marilyn Manson” where I would ask how that makes him gay too, with never one honest response. I told the guy I was going to submit a warning on him as a bluff because I had no idea his gamertag, and he kind of shut up. Who know what happen to him, but needless to say I’m pretty turned off from playing games with random people for a while. The only reason I began to question him was because it was the 5th game of the night and so far that was the most common word I had heard exchanged all night.

Yeah, most of my Lost Planet experiences haven't been too bad, but that guy on friday night got both me and Goose pretty ticked off. It totally would have been a fight had, you know, we been in the same room.

It's for this reason that I usually disable voice when I'm playing with people I don't know because people either complain constantly, talk trash, say incredibly dumb things, or do a combination of the three.

I'll admit, I usually start to go after the loud mouths.

I've enjoyed playing through the missions quite a lot, but I can't stand the bosses and a lot of the bigger fights - it kinda feels like there's just so much going on in the way of pretty explosion and debris animations, with me barely being able to see what's going on in a lot of cases.

With the bosses, I haven't really felt like I'm learning a pattern or actually employing any skill in beating them as the VS's feel unwieldy and awkward to pilot, so it's just blind luck I don't end up staring at smoke and explosion animations. I wager this is probably to do with me being bad at the game, though.

Still, it's a nice game for the Q1 drought.
