Bad news: I found out trying to find Adilegian in-game that MGO is region-locked. Not sure what they are, but I'm sure euro folk can't play with US and JP types, and vice-versa. I hope more euro-SBers get in on this now. D:

I tried to get in on the MGO action tonight. I should have registered sooner. Goddamn complicated registration system. Having to register and buy characters is annoying (first one is free).

Anyways, I went to add the character names into my friends list and it kept telling me that it couldn't find them. And I couldn't access the player rankings to try to find you guys in some sort of listing. I guess I'll have to mess around with it some other time.

The box is unbelievable in this game! In the first MGO, it barely ever worked either because empty boxes didn't appear in two thirds of the map, or because everyone just checked every single box, mostly likely because of the former. Now, with so many empty boxes around it's just not worth it to break every single one, since you'll probably get a bullet through the temple while you're distracted.

This is a good thing! Seriously, I just ducked behind a corner in Groznyj Grad to dodge some guy's fire, waited until I heard him start coming for me, then crawled through a hole under the wall and hid in a box a few feet away. A few seconds later, he comes through the hole, looks around, checks behind some rubbish, then just runs straight past me! I jump out and unload my M4 into him! He's dead! I salute for the Kill Cam!

But that's just the box. I love pretty much everything about this game, regardless of the fact that apparently my modem/router hates me playing it for extended periods. I tell you guys, I haven't been this infatuated with an online game for years. I mean I think the last one was Descent 3. I'm willing to say that this is well worth half the price of the main game, if not more!

Also, more games need to have a victory song you can sing at the end of a game. Seriously, I sing it and salute and people stand around me and salute. So epic.

So yeah, I did what I said what I was gonna do (got the Big Boss emblem) and now I'm playing MGO again. If only they'd let me buy the expansion! Seriously, Konami can't run an online game service for shit. As soon as I can get my hands on the expansion I'm making a new female character and sticking to it, which means the whole one person who added me on MGO (Telengard) will have to re-add me. If the name Jolyne is available, that's what I'm gonna use.

Edit: Amazingly, I got to the final step in purchasing the expansion... before it brought me to an error page in Japanese. WOW THANKS KONAMI

Edit 2: And now that all that business is sorted out, my new character name is Jolyne.
