I voted for Dead Space. It's one of the few games I can think of that I actually get more excited for every time I see it
Where the balls are Flower and LittleBigPlanet in that poll though _________________

I think Prince of Persia will end up being a pretty fun game to play. But man, wow, everything about the way this guy thinks....that is perhaps hyperbole....the thought process this guy is putting on display here: annoying? pathetic? to be expected?
We have been able, as a team, to abandon archaic gameplay systems: combos, checkpoints, levels - these are all things of the past you see, replacing them with....oh, right, never mind that, yes moving right along.
Our Industry-leading synergy-system provides the user with a highly-focused genre-redefining experience.
Is this guy just a random mouthpeice? Actually involved in the creative process?
Actual not fake quote: "We're aiming for nothing more than re-establishing Prince of Persia as THE benchmark action-adventure game, I mean, not just on any one single console but across the industry. We think we have incredible combat, we think we have incredible acrobatics, you certainly can see we have incredible visuals and we're ready to reclaim the throne."
I mean, the proof is in the pudding, as it has been for ever I guess, but to see, so blatantly, an example of the peice by peice, systems-oriented cookie-cutter thought process that invades so much of game design, it is quite a treat.

What I think is hilarious is that this guy is so enthralled with his own IP that they completely forget where this series comes from. Some how PoP:SoT is THE FIRST PRINCE of PERSIA GAME and nothing came before it? Man, they should have just renamed the series and had an interesting _new_ IP to go with. _________________

Holy shit, they nailed it. It looks a little stiff, but it seems a lot of fun and different from other 3rd person shooters. I like the money aspect also since it ties into the film a bit. |
Man, the guy being interviewed is bland as fuck. Good thing this is Ghostbusters. With that IP and the original writers and actors involved the game practically sells itself. Here's hoping they have co-op play as part of the multiplayer. |

Conversely, the BAYONETTA official site has hyperbole and pretension but comes off as being pretty awesome. |

I think I know the complaint you're getting at, but I think you're being overly harsh with the guy. I mean, these are the bulding blocks that are absolutely required for whatever it is you're looking for in games. They're not being driven by what you're looking for, true, but if whatever you're looking for isn't driven by the thing he's hoping to achieve then it will just be a mess.
I probably just articulated that really badly. I guess what I'm saying is I'd like to know what a person would have to say to get you excited about their design process.

| It's somehow even more hilarious that the interviewer asks if there will be online co-op. I'm pretty sure if you interview any videogame producer and don't ask about co-op, downloadable content, or achievements, you get fired on the spot. |

Hyperbole and pretension are fine, it is the fact that the "throne" will be "reclaimed" with what amount to IGN review subcategories, a mentality that pervaids every thing said in the interview.
Combos? Pff, juvenile! Gameover screens and checkpoints? We are past that, to be sure! Levels?! What is this 1985?
Our game has Nodes, man, we have moved past.
"I got it, Bill! We'll give the double-jump and continue-screen tits!"
I think the game itself looks fine, you know, I think it will probably be a good game. Again, I don't know who this guy is, could be some marketing guy who's adjusted himself to the whole gamespeak combine? But, I mean, this is the AAA videogame industry's idea of progressivism (might not be a word). To get rid of the combo counter. |

| Ghostbusters gameplay vid is kinda weird to me. It's really boring to watch, but it looks like it'd be damn good times to play. That doesn't happen all the time. |

Supposedly, the multiplayer options are going to be their big reveal for Comic-Con. |

| Yeah, it is best to just get someone to man through the campaign, just so that you can play individual events on their own, the way the game is supposed to be. |

Pick Finn. Easy mode. Blast through, unlock Nemo and Killen find the events you like. Go nutso in single play mode. Job done.

You know, that is funny, because those are the modes I spend the most time playing with friends. You get a good route planned, a good rhythm to it, and you are suddenly floating in the 20's on a combo that goes on for the rest of the match.
It's like the game has two distinct game styles in it, both of which are awesome. On one hand, you have the racers, the 'do a perfect run of this course', which is what you seem to be good at, robotrocker. On the otherhand, you have the almost PacmanCE style 'get as many points in this time period as you can' unlimited badguy spawns. It's an interesting division in the game.
Has anyone played The Club multiplayer? I honestly have never even thought to try it. |

nope, as far as i'm concerned leaderboards are that game's multiplayer mode.
i love both sides to the club but i enjoy the survival missions a bit more - they just rack up the intensity every second and it's easier to roll with a combo the whole time. _________________

Yeah, I am a huge fan of PGR and learning the Time Attack routes is what I am good at. I am still shocked only 5 people including myself have cracked 10 mil on the Demo level. The bonus guy is a pain to nail but its always possible. Anyway. Havent tried multi myself since its a dead scene. Anyone wanna get a Club night going so we can mess around with it and maybe grab some achievements? _________________

Team Skullshots is a gridlock blast and can easily go on for half an hour as you have to work hard (or be sneaky) to gain ground towards the last skulls . Teamwork is a must.
Team Siege is also very nice, even for a race guy like myself. |

Mainly because they went down the "Gritty realism" route when a No More Heroes/Killer 7 art style would have benefited the games Sega roots more and made it stand out. Plus, the American press had a serious case of "I don't get it therefore I will low mark it" syndrome except Penny Arcade. _________________
