| Back on freaking topic: I hope that Kojima's love of Gears means he'll be sticking with a more dynamic or exciting viewpoint than the top-down stuff in previous MGS games. It seems to me that the praise for MGS3:Subsistence's 3D camera was almost universal; hopefully Kojima was listening. |
I'm sure it won't be top-down since Portable Ops' camera is behind the back, but fuck if Portable Ops camera isn't BROKE AS FUCK. With the broken controls of the PSP, Portable Ops certainly should have been done with a top-down camera.
Oh yeah, and I'm with firenze on the HDD thing. The DVD Drive speed doesn't really matter as much since smart developers who code their games specifically for PS3 will use the Hard Drive as a temporary storage location to improve load times. Ridge Racer is kind of cruddy in that you have to specifically tell it to install the game on your hard drive, but I wouldn't be surprised if newer games began using hard drive space in the background as temporary file storage. A few Xbox games did this (Halo and Doom 3 are the ones that stand out right now) and it seemed to work really well.
