I'm sorry that you're wrong. You didn't enjoy it, you have only convinced yourself that you did after the fact. Come into the light, Mechanical! _________________

I don't deny, no. But attacking a poster child is pointless and accomplishes nothing, other than letting people know where you stand. Which I feel we've kind of reached the saturation point on with Bioshock hate. People get it. There are those who think Bioshock was crap and they have their reasons. You're not solving anything by constantly reminding people that you thought Bioshock was crap for x,y, and z reason. _________________

The rabid hatred for Bioshock ITT makes me love this board again <3
I was initially confused by DAIS's post too. That's a testament to how spot-on the criticism is.
Dracko's word "middlebrow" is exactly the right term for Bioshock. It's like that film Crash: tedious, aesthetically bankrupt and with a laughably blunt political message that fooled the academy into giving it an Oscar. |

Also, now when I talk about the superb Ballard book and the Cronenberg film it lead to, I have to qualify I'm not talking about "Everyone's a Little Bit Racist". :( _________________

Rapid hatred is never a good thing, unless that thing is Hitler. ;( _________________

don't get me wrong, I still have a soft spot for the original bioshock. but I enjoy like it's a b-movie. and it does have really nice atmosphere and convincing level design.
I mean, shame about everything else and all that. _________________

I love the first Bioshock, and am currently playing through it again to get the last few achievements, because it's a good excuse to play through it again. _________________

You don't remember when EA and Square had a publishing deal in PS1 days. Or that Capcom publishes all the Grand Theft Autos in Japan. etc. etc. |

Capcom used to publish the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater games and some of Midway's output like Blitz, Stranglehold and Psi-Ops too. _________________

| I always find it odd when Japanese games get localized in Europe but not the US, like Project Altered Beast (not that we were missing much). |

Eidos did a lot of Dreamcast ports for Japanese games in 'Yurp back in the hazy days and Ubi/Atari and the like for the PS1. Otherwise its been a split between big publishers and smaller publishers.
Fun thing heard from PAX.
Anyone playing Alpha Protocol at Sega's booth had to sign a NDA before playing the game. Kinda strange since its gonna be hard to police xxXWeedLord420Xxx posting on GameFAQ's posting his opinions on it but Sega dont seem too confident of it at the moment. _________________

Wasn't at least one of the Earth Defense Force PS2 games released over in the Frog Countries, along with the EDF hex strategy spinoff?
Also: Ikusagami, and Konami's Oz, both of which looked really great. Ikusagami on the PS2 was what Ninety Nine Nights on the X360 promised. |
Both were and in English. Also a bunch of D3 Simple games like the 500FT woman and Zombie Vs Ambulance were released as well. _________________
