If you think about what you're getting for that price ... man, after playing it at the GC I'd buy a PS3 just for that game. _________________

hell, most people only buy two or three games a year, and if one of them's uncharted and the other wipeout HD they'll be doing just fine with the PS3. _________________

Add Little Big Planet and boom. Your over priced Blu-Ray elephant in the room just became worthwhile. _________________

Man, Square Enix is a total troll. They are releasing the Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories PS2 remake in the US, $30.......by itself. Without KH2: Final Mix+, which is what people actually want. _________________

I want FFXII International. You know, with that totally redone level-up board made up of classes.
I know that will never happen T_T _________________

Wait: they bothered writing a new backstory for the heroes in the DS remake of FF3, only to have the Onion Knight showing up again?
I guess that's what you call an icon. _________________

Ubisoft has a website up for Armored Core For Answer.
http://armoredcoreforanswer.us.ubi.com/
There's a new trailer up for the game there, with a curious (english) voice-over.
The story is somewhat explained on that website.
Frankly, it looks pretty shoddy compared to From Software's own page for the game.
However, it contains some pretty useful information:
Looks like the game takes place 10 years after the AC4, where the remaining corporations now rule the planet and the war you started and finished in AC4 has destroyed the planet. There's a guild up now that runs really close to how the Raven's nest operated in other AC's, and the pilots are either descendants or survivors from the war in AC4. There's no mention of Anatolia's Merc and what happened to him or the nation. (The player character was the Anatolia Merc in case anyone forgot.) Also, it looks sort of like Joshua O'Brien somehow survived and is still piloting his White Glint, this time for a democratic idealistic nation/rebel group. He may be an AI construct this time.
The game is getting released on the 16th of September 2008. That's only 4 freaking days away!
Information on the Co-Op:
Transitions from multiplayer to single-player are seamless and no longer involve selecting it from the start. There's an option called PARTNERSHIP when you load up a mission and if selected allows you and a friend to form a team and complete the mission together. Not all missions allow this though. :( _________________ Man, I'm sorry. |

As soon as it hits the 199$ Mark, why not? MGS4 and the games that might be released up till then might make for more fun (I hope), though currently it's WipeoutHD that is the game I'd want most.

Seeing that trailer in all it's hilarious epicness, yes, I'd say that they'd even get so far as to do something like that. But then you have Tidus, Zidane etc. all in one game, something that is so anti-canon that you'd wonder why they even care to explain anything.

I enjoyed Chain of Memories well enough on the gba. I beat both Sora and Rikku's stories and spent some amount of time building an uber-deck for Sora. But the whole time I was thinking; this is all right - but if they could ever expand the interface it would be really playable. No more shuffling through my huge deck one at a time, and no more clumsily trying to use L and R at the same time to use slights. So if the dualshock - with three times as many buttons - can do these things correctly, then yes, I am indeed going to pick it up come this December (or whenever). _________________

I have a PS3; my one game for the PS3 is MGS4. It's a nice system. |

You're not. You are, however, part of a minority that is, for the convenience of conversation, not worth mentioning.
(I personally really liked Chain of Memories, but inherently distrust the engine they use for the PS2 games, resent the fact that Shimomura or whoever was in charge of the remake did nothing to change the songs copied from KH1 except to alter the instruments used, and I found that the license was to the detriment of the game, even if it's what enabled such unique gameplay in the first place) _________________

Having the White Glint pilot be the Anatolia merc would be interesting; having your former PC go up against the new guy, yeah. This would be a first in an AC game, and I can't really think of any examples where this has happened in another series.
AI construct is the leading winner here though Toll. AI constructs competing with humans has always been a central theme in AC, where humanity is always one step away from creating it's own destruction. Nine Ball was always an AI so it makes sense that O'brien would've been the base for the Nine Ball's program - since he was the second best pilot out there and it would add more weight (and sense) to that final battle against him in AC4.
Also, there's a lot of evidence pointing to the fact that AC4 is a prequel to rest of the 'Core games.
Oh, and they spell out the fact that Normals are just regular AC's being piloted by "normal" people. _________________ Man, I'm sorry. |

| Where did you guys get all of these plot details re:AC4? It's a prequel to the first games? Genocide? AI constructs? What the hell?! Did I just not pay enough attention to the game when going through it? I mean, I only beat the story mode by lazily steamrolling everything with a cheap-ass dual-grenade-spam Next. I must have missed some important dialogue while grinding away at the missions. Or maybe it's that I'm bad at reading between the lines. |

None of it is spelled out for you, you have to infer what's going on. Kinda like what it would really be like if you were actually a merc.
But all of it is there - you just have to look for it. _________________ Man, I'm sorry. |

some of you people like drod, right? they just put out a drod rpg. anyway someone needs to buy it and tell me how it is.
i was interested in drod for the interesting stuff they were doing with storytelling, and it'd be nice to have that minus the meticulous puzzles. but they dropped that stuff in the city beneath and the demo of drod rpg didn't impress me. it's a luckless game with a fixed amount of resources, and it feels cold. i wish there was more story. there's plenty of backstory. i wish the places i was travelling through had stories. journey to rooted hold has that fantastic sequence where the slayer chases you through an entire level; the demo of drod rpg doesn't really hint that there will be anything like that. _________________

Any of the AC4 players here know about the framerates of the 360 versus ps3 versions? I was playing the 360 AC4 and noticed some frme rate drops when the game got super heckick, and i am curious how well the 360 is going to handle the colossus vessels in AC4A.
I am totally buying the game this week though. SHIT YEAH. Probably the 360 version unless some major issues are reported on it. |

I've seen the videos and stories and they are more or less identical. The 360 gets a little dippy in comparison, but completely negligable. I also don't remember the framerate drops except for some huge explosions (savor the moment).
Also, thanks for reminding me the game is to be out this week; came out of the blue for me. _________________

Actually, the low and mid range settings a lot of people can run. No one can run the game maxed out is the thing. I've tested it on some low end machines on low settings and can get 30fps on it. _________________

i've pretty widely heard that it's pretty fun in the beginning when you're fucking superman running around hijacking jeeps and jumping out before they hit buildings and throwing koreans into each other and getting totally pitted
and its honestly not that bad looking at lower levels |

I dunno, I found that if you can't enable anti-aliasing it just looks gross. but, then again, I feel that most PC games are this way. what do I know. _________________

| Anti-aliasing is the last thing I go for. I go for effects quality and textures first. Then, resolutions. Then, if I feel I've got enough performance left over, I'll enable some AA. Lately I've been PC gaming on my 720p HDTV, so I've been enabling AA more often because I'm not cranking resolution. |
