I really can't figure out why I always, always, always love the look of DS 3D.

That reminds me of how every single time I went back to my mom's place for the first few months or so after I'd moved out, I ended up playing Saga Frontier on ePSXe on our old desktop, stoned, with Revolver on very low volume so as not to wake anybody up, at around three in the morning.

"every single time" was exactly three occasions, mind you - and I actually wrote the ABDN Sunshine review coming off of one of these - but still. Of special note is the fact that I'm only up past midnight once a week, ordinarily.

It was a nice way of confronting my childhood. Hence, um, the Sunshine "review."

I hope they heed the fact that is Mother 3 in making something like this.

I mean - I hate to say that escapism would be disappointing coming from Ghibli of all people, but!

I ran CoD4 at a stable 20ish FPS on my old notebook (1.6ghz pentium M, gig of memory, radeon x600) with the settings not quite all of the way down, if memory serves.

EDIT (which threatens to make this pithy, know-it-all response much less funny): oh dear, thank you for the corrections - it's been so long that I thought the long vowel markers were rather like hyphens, because japanese is often transliterated that way.

I don't think I'll be buying this after being so underwhelmed by the likes of Aquaria and Crayon Physics and World of Goo and most well-respected indie projects of late, but I hope it's good!

The iPlatforms are a much, much better home for indie dev, and while that's gone nowhere except in terms of aesthetics for a couple of years now, the DS is an animu wasteland except for an average two or three games out of the year.
