playing Marathon 1 what with the constant namedropping of that series all over this forum by individuals
level design kinda sucks so far. if I have to hunt down every little switch, to figure out what door it opened somewhere else on the level.... then you know, maybe Doom was on the right track with those color-coded keys/doors. at least you'll always know where to go next, and when to go there.
but I appreciate that Durandal is a much more interesting AI character than that overhyped cliche called SHODAN. |

I finished Marathon 2
I started up Marathon Infinity and played a few levels before getting FUCKING SICK of going through these billions of underwater tunnel levels. I'M DONE. |

Confound Delivery (i think swimming is required on this one)
the worst part is having to punch those green monsters to death, very slowly, because guns don't work underwater.
also Tycho isn't as fun to be bossed around by as Durandal was :[ |

Tycho is a bit of an asshole, yes. I made him angry and he teleported me into space :(
IMPORTANT NOTE: Make sure you replenish your oxygen before leaving the level, to save yourself getting brutally fucked a couple levels later.

and sometimes just confusing, I don't know what a lot of these terminals are talking about.
but it's pretty good. |

got Radiata Stories since it is SO CHEAP
so far it hasn't really offended me with horrible jRPG cliches. it's just.... really boring instead.
this game has really good voice acting! even for Square-Enix!
not that you'd really want to listen to it so much, since the main character is an alabaster retard.
whatever happened to those games about a gloomy mercenary who would SHUT UP instead of blithering endlessly about any thought that enters his mind?

I randomly chose Goh as my first character to learn to play, is he any good
I get to about stage 7 of the arcade mode before getting pummeled so badly within five seconds, I don't even know how to deal with that
It seems like a pretty cool game though! a few minutes in the Training mode learning Goh's movelist impressed me with how it all works together. I just suck at fighting games in general. |

The game has a ridiculously in-depth tutorial with character specific strategies and string/combo suggestions for a reason.

got Grim Grimoire
nicest loading screens ever
it seems alright so far. a lot of hand-holding early on. i like the dragon.
i'm worried that it won't become very deep of an RTS towards the end. mine that mana, build up an army of 100 unicorns, go attack, repeat.
hey wait, I just described every RTS i've ever played. damn. |

played AquariaDemo to its end (way behind on the times)
the first little bit was nice, rather pretty. then it quickly turns into a bland zelda archetype. mermaid zelda. undah dah sea. i got bored.

between this and Grim Grimoire (and Odin Sphere) it just shows you can fill up a mediocre game with beautiful painted 2D artwork and fool just about everyone into thinking it's ART. oh, and "british accent" voices help too. |

my Dragon Quest VII save file got corrupted. and it had like 50 hours on it. the rest of the memory card survived somehow. i should've been paranoid and backed it up but oh well.
that made me pretty sad. so to drown my sorrows, i'm playing Final Fantasy 12 again a little. seeing how it's basically a MMORPG that you can not play with others. RONERY GAME.
i'm removing everyone's weapons for funsies. so far i've had to levelgrind for Aladdin Vaan a little. in the desert, punching wolves in the ass. wait 5 seconds so i can punch the wolf's ass again.
Penelo knows how to kick sometimes. but mostly punch. |
