I got Spartan: Total Warrior last week, and its really been living up to the SB Hype. Played until the Barbarian village attack (grain stores) before I even knew I had any magical abilities! Not sure how I missed it before, guess I thought it was my Rage attack meter, but force lightning and this hammer slam are awesome. Cleans house big time.

Gigantes with clubs are assholes.

I think I am at the end now, I am a "Hero", and the game has taken a nice unexpected turn. Can't wait to start over.

Great game.

I guess I had no idea how far I was into Spartan, this game keeps getting better and better.

Was Archimedes a pacifist? Pick up a fucking sword you loser!

Too Human Demo: Wha? What is this? This game is so confusing and convoluted that its almost made we want to at least rent the game.

The sword fighting is really hilarious though, its like I am on Ice Skates. Maybe if they just had little rocket boosters on the ankles of the character I would be fine with it. But the fact he makes not even a jumping motion to dart to an enemy 20 feet away is disgusting. Just a little rocket burst would do.

Also, I have had zero problems fighting hordes of enemies by just spinning the right stick in a 360 and touching nothing else. This exact some effect would be created by tapping X and a direction, that would free up the Right stick to adjust the camera. What a novel idea!

Ill be honest though, I had more fun playing it than the Force Unleashed demo.

At the final Battle with Dracula in Bloodlines, and its with the Spear-guy. This entire battle would be twice as easy with Whip-guys angled jumping whip strike. Sure Sprear-guy can twirl it aroud, and do a super jump, but he can't poke at an angle while jumping. Pffff.

Lode Runner (nes)
Championship Lode Runner (famicom)
Lode Runner Twin: Justy to Liberty no Daibouken (sfc)
Lode Runner (xbla)

Ok, so I played the trial of Lode Runner for XBLA and absolutely love it, but its like $15 so I checked out some other Lode Runners on Emulation, and none of them seem as fun. The two NES/Famicom games you can't see enough of the board, and when the screen scrolls when you are really far to the left or right so you can bump into enemies really easily. The SFC sequal has nice graphics, but is zoomed in even closer (but has a map) but the controls are clunky and it has the IMMEDIATE turn-off factor of the the Candy themed level, straight out the gates. Candy themed levels are always the worst in games. Also, the SFC game has this Fantasy setting rather than Indiana Jones looting mines and the enemies animate super choppy.

The XBLA one is fast, clean, you can see the whole level, and its exciting. Is there any other older versions that capture this? Is the original PC game quick?

holy shit, how did I not discover this yesterday? Not only does Lode Runner Online feature all the levels from The Legend Returns (in addition to new levels, multiplayer and new hazards), it's now freeware!

it's not very highly regarded, though. also, why would a company release a snes game in 1999?

Again, its way too zoomed in. I ended up just shelling out the 1200 points for the XBLA version and I am having a blast with it.

Finished Giana Sisters DS! Including the classic stages. They're made much easier by the fact the game mechanics are more forgiving this time around. Crumbling platforms crumble slowly, The punk power-up acts as a hit point, Giana's more maneuverable... Having a 50 lives buffer helps too, if only to relieve stress since I actually didn't die that much.

There's still that red sun thing I'm not quite sure what to make of, I guess I'll have to search for a warp brick in 9-2...

Are you over in the Euro Zone? I am an american who wants to buy this on a whim, where can I go? Is there a www.play-asia.com equivelant for Euro?

Maybe try amazon.de? Dunno if they ship games outside of europe (since amazon.com doesn't ship games to europe). But if you wait one month for the game to be released in the whole of europe I think play-asia should then have it available.

I guess I will wait. Hmph. I've never even played the original, I just had an impluse to buy it. Their sales staff better hope I still have the impulse in a month.

I have purchased things off of amazong.co.uk before and had it shipped to the U.S. with no issues, just more expensive shipping.

I played some New Super Mario Bros. on my nephews DS over the weekend killing some time on vacation. I had not played it since it came out. The game is pretty good for time wasting, but man that game just does not feel legit. My 9 year old nephew thinks its the shit (he also prefers Indy 4 over the others) but thats because its the latest and he is 9.

My question is, why does the game make me think of Donkey Kong Country? Both have that feeling of running over a background, not IN a playing field is maybe why I sense that. Like its a green screen.

I remember there being a big ad campaign for it, or at least seeing ads for it in all sorts of magazines. I owned it at one point for Xbox, and it was neat but it was more of game of neat ideas than actually fun to play so I stopped.

Zeno Clash (demo)

Fucking neat! I am going to buy the game and play it at length! I hope these guys get a lot of press and maybe an Xbox 360/PS3 release out of their efforts, it seems like real good stuff.

Plus its out of its head bonkers/weird! More weird games on consoles, please!

Im going to play a bunch of games on the taito collections for the Sony Playstation 2 when I get home. But I am still at work, so I can't play them now.

But I will soon. Probably Elevator Action returns, and some sort of Darius game.

For the first time I have been actually playing Sonic 2. Whenever I would play it as a kid at a friends house it was 100% just sprinting to the end of the level, getting to casio and stopping.

But now I am actually taking my time, exploring, collecting rings, etc. - its fun! I made it to the Air Fortress but had to quit the game to go somewhere. But I was really enjoying myself a lot, more than I was thinking I would when I turned it on randomly. I am excited to play 3 and Knuckles now!

Oh and if you want to fall asleep while playing a light gun game, check out House of the Dead: Overkill. If the shameless Planet Terror rip-off doesn't make you groan, the gameplay will. It apprently features more instances of the word "Fuck" than any game ever, probably because its used in every sentence, and because the writers don't know how to rip-off Tarrentino any better than that. But if you want a game where you get to shoot zombies that are slowly crawling out of bed, you can!

Yoshi Touch & Go

Such a great game. So uncrowded, so blissful and simple. No hurry, just enjoy the ride and don't bump into anything.
