At that price, I question its usefulness as an actual whip. Then again, the string on the end suggests that one could attach a popper to it. _________________ Taking a break. |

| Sure. All we need is some lighter fluid and a match. |

Happy First Post to me.
Anyway.
It IS an actual whip. Specifically, an Australian-type stockwhip. The string makes the end even smaller than the leather itself, which has the effect, when the whip is cracked, of propelling the string to Ludicrous Speed. If you've ever held a tennis ball on top of a basketball, and dropped them, you know what I mean, here.
Whips crack because the very tip actually breaks the sound barrier. A whipcrack is a tiny sonic boom. It's the coolest thing ever. _________________

Yeah, a friend of mine got pretty proficient with the whip at one point in his life. I remember it being about 8 feet long. It sounded about like a .22 rifle when he cracked it, but eventually he ran out of poppers and annihilated his string. It was a nice whip though, and a good deal more expensive than this one appears to be, if memory serves me. Then again, I guess this one could work. However, it does bear a striking resemblance to the really cheap ones that kids (like myself at a younger age) buy at fairs.
My mother had/has a pretty nice fox hunting whip that I used to play with. Those are short little things though, and much less likely to gash one's face if one should happen to make a mistake. _________________ Taking a break. |
