27.

Growing up I always took for granted that that was the average age when people had kids, and now that it's 'only' seven years away for me is kinda surreal.

Of course I took notice that most of the wealthy/smart kids' parents were way older than my parents and everyone else who had young parents.

Last year my mom told me that at her age, there was a higher chance I'd be born with Down's. She explained that this wasn't a problem though, since she just would have aborted me if I had Down's.

That's a weird thing to hear from your mom.

Hell, my mom has told me on numerous occasions that she and even the doctor both agreed that I'd have been aborted if there was anything seriously wrong with me in there.

I think she was around 40, anyway.

Mom: 34

Dad: 35

My parents had a seriously hard time being able to having a kid (for health reasons) and they were kinda relatively old when they finally succeeded, I guess. That's also why I'm an only child even though they wanted a second kid.

23. Glad that I hatched from a relatively fresh egg.

My father was 21.

I am 23 now and I still don't think I could be as good as a father as he was. Good that I dont want to be one! Much less so in my 20s. 's crazy.

I respect the damn hell out of young parents. We need more of them, probably.

Both were either 23 or 24, can't remember exactly. Being 27 I feel a little awkward, especially considering that I've been married for almost 9 years.
