Does anyone know how the music was done for this? It seems like it's midi playback based on the manual, but it sounds nice and chiptuney. Is there some kind of fancy soundfont? _________________

I'm a little behind here but uh -- how am I supposed to get the glyph reader? I take it it's sold at the store, but it's not showing up at any of the stores in my game. _________________

Guys I need some pointers:
I haven't completed any of the ruins. I'm currently trying to figure out the giants' mausoleum, and I haven't really made any progress at ALL in the guidance gate (I can't even find the room with the two angels -- is it past the room that has a huge gap in the floor? is there some trick to getting across there that I'm not aware of? it's always just a little further than I can seem to jump).
I also can't make heads or tails of the hints they give with regards to the 9 brothers. I assume they have something to do with the star/moon/sun switches at the bottom of the mausoleum... but all I know is that bud is associated with stars, led with the sun, and zi with moon. but I don't know how the giants correspond with each pillar. I tried matching them up with the pattern in the background but that didn't work either...

| Mister Toups: in guidances gate: do you mean the "two angel faces each other" thing? That path is on top of your head...and I assume the gap you're talking about is the room on the left, and well, there's an "elevator" if you trigger a switch... |
Which switch? There's one that you push a block over (and I have no idea what this one did but I can't activate it again) and there's one that's inside this little chamber with a ladder, which I can't even reach. Is there some trick to getting the elevator thing to work?
Did I fuck up? Do I have to start over? _________________

Actually -- never mind, I just found the switch.
But... now I don't know what to do once I'm up there.
this game is brutal. _________________

Okay!
Figured it out!
Completed the first dungeon!
Well -- there's one spot I still haven't found a way to get to yet. _________________

Okay, I've matched the pattern up and nothing happens. In fact when I leave and come back all the switches are reset. It... IS moon/star/sun from left to right, right? _________________

My strategy for the stone giant:
Stay in the bottom right corner of the screen at all times and jump over his blasts. At first his general pattern is that he'll shoot 3 fireballs before moving, shoot another 3, and then stretch his arm out. So after every 2 sets of fire, climb your way almost all the way to the top of the ladder (so you're still protected from falling rocks) and then just as he stops, climb all the way up, and the moment you see his arm outstretch leap across. If he's close you can usually score 3 hits on him, sometimes 4, but sometimes you can only get 2. As he takes more damage he'll change his pattern up a bit but this general strategy works. It's still a hard as fuck battle but when you finally beat him it feels really great.
How many life jewels have you found? I'd recommend at least 2, but 3 is preferable. _________________

Yeah, that would be great.
Maybe... make a wiki? _________________

Yeah the bats drove me nuts until I realized that you do damage in the spot above your head the instant you press the whip button. This combined with a healthy supply of shurikens minimizes how threatening/annoying they are.
Though they're still pretty annoying! _________________
