Interstellar Rondo Turrican
Now with bonus gamefaqs review:
| Quote: |
Interstellar Rondo Turrican (or Akumajou no Turrican: Fukkatsu as it's known as in other parts) is an often overlooked Gameboy game as well as a video game. Although some consider it not quite as good as it's prequel, Road Fighter , it's definitely one of my favorite Gameboy video games. Now on to my boring but somewhat trite review...
The graphics in IRT are good, but unoriginal. The levels are good and detailed, but the weapons are not so detailed and the enemies look alike. And the ship could have been bigger also. there also is some slowdown in this game, which can be really irritating at times.
If you've been playing the series from the beginning, like I have, you'll find yourself smiling with recognition many times when a new level begins, as it's usually accompanied by music from one of the earlier game. Never have I been so blown away by a game's soundtrack before. The excellent music just gets you so pumped up while playing that sometimes you'll only want to play to experience it. I'll have to track down the import soundtrack.
The gameplay is fun but can be sometimes frustrating. Take the end of the fourth level, where you hop from werewolf to werewolf while attempting to shoot down an enemy battleship. Certain targets on the ship are too far away to hit with the flamethrower, which it is quite possible to have. But hark! You can't get back in the Viper! You're screwed!
Forget feeding Christians to lions. This is the game to play.
Rating 8/10. |

Is it by Taito? Because if it is I think I know what you're talking about, but I can't remember the name. _________________
