have you tried a USB to PS2 converter? Cheap and easy. _________________

I only have one PS2 port which my keyboard uses. And anyway, I really just need to have working USB ports in general. _________________

That only works if the mouse understands PS/2. _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

well, I did a windows repair and it fixed the problem. bioshock looks great!!!
the only thing is now, for some reason, it forces me to do a login when it starts up. and it sets the default username as "administrator" so I get an invalid user name error every time I start up. not a big deal, but it's obnoxious.
doesn't seem to be any way to disable this, either. _________________

| Check your Users in the Control Panel. Installing .net sometimes adds an asp.net user. Delete it and it'll stop asking for your login information. |

nah there's just me and "guest".
the fucked up thing is if I switch it to where you just click on your username instead of it giving the windows 2K prompt, I still get the windows 2K prompt but it's immediately covered up by the "windows is now starting screen", which then never goes anywhere because it still wants a user/pass. I can alt+tab over to it, it's just odd. windows is hell bent on getting user/pass confirmation.
this is what I get for using nlite, I guess. _________________

| Do you have "Use the Welcome Screen" checked? If your account and Guest are the only ones in there and you have that option checked it should skip the screen. |

that's what I'm saying. when it's checked, it still gives me the prompt, it just immediately covers it up with the "windows is now starting" screen. _________________

My old XP machine used to do this!
Never figured it out either. Then again I barely ever restarted my computer, and you can just alt-tab, so I figured, eh. _________________ Let's Play, starring me. |

Well I just dropped my laptop onto a hard stone floor... I am quite simply fucking amazed that it didn't break. I've tested everything that I can think of to test and somehow it works. Held my breath for a while though. _________________
