I was wondering how bad things are down there traffic-wise. I know Beaumont and Galveston were pretty badly hit. We're planning on driving through on our way to Austin in a few days and I'm thinking it'd be better to go north instead of taking I-10. Anyone got the scoop? _________________

Normally I'd be down there, but I'm in South Korea. My brother lives in Houston, hope he's safe. I don't think traffic would be that bad in Austin though, it didn't really hammer Austin. _________________

Yeah, I think Austin is fine, but we have to drive through Houston to get there... _________________

| Pretty sure they're still not just letting anybody downtown, still, today. Bayous flooded, lots of glass, Citibank building basically ruined. Haven't actually been down to my neighborhood yet, camped at the parents house in the burbs since Friday. Probably be better just to take I-10 to the 610 Loop, go north and around; or even, to be safe, the Tollway, doing basically the same thing in a bigger loop. Only place traffic might be bad is people trying to get back on I-45. |
