Yes. Especially since you've played other recent Spider-Man games. I haven't, so I'm probably having more positive reaction to this than people who've played the others. I recognize this isn't a top quality game. but it has some very fun things about it. I was able to get $13 off through a promo deal at ToysRUs. Right now Gogamer.com has the PC version for $20 and the 360 version for $49. It was $43 a few days ago.... that probably won't help you in Australia, though.
I will keep updating as I go.
The quality of the cinematics seems to be noteably better during important scenes and/or boss encounters. Its as if they pumped out the minor stuff just so that they could say that its there and that they have a complete game.
There are also some things that may bother harcore fans, like Mary-Jane calling him Peter when in costume. Black Cat kissing Spidey with his mask on, and failing QTE's with the vulture; instead of him killing you or something, you just fall to your death. But....you are Spider-Man!?
Whoever planned Black Cat's non-combat animations is a huge dork. She is ridiculous and groan inducing. |

The combination of metrovania design with 2d devil may cryism in the GBA version is kind of frustrating. Especially in the last segment where there isn't much color contrast between enemies and the background, and the final gauntlet of enemies existing pretty much to wear you down so you can't face the last boss at full strength.
Seriously, locking all the doors until enough bad guys have spawned at you smack them wasn't very fun back in Final Fight and it's much the same now. Most of the rest of the game is pretty good though, but not worth paying full price for by any means.

Yeah i really don't like the graphics.... i'm a huge spider-man fan but i thought the guy's previous Spyro game was actually alot prettier
there are some neat combat tricks tho and there aren't enough '2D Devil May Cry' games to really bitch about them
have you dropped by the Penny Arcade forum where the dev talks about the game?
