I just started DQVII! On my PSP! I think it's a pretty bad idea, but hell, if I'm going to play it, I'm going to play it on a portable, and that's that.

So far, it's logic is ridiculous.

I got mine through pricegrabber. The prices are literally diminishing by the week. I bought this exact card for $33 last week; it's now down to $28.

R-Type Final is wonderful, and I am terrible at it. The concept of a greatest hits game is intriguing, though. Super Mario Brothers Final would be pretty fantastic. Kind of what I was expecting Super Paper Mario to be, but oh well.

I still don't understand the appeal of Panel De Pon.

The Choro Q game for PS2 is horrible and nauseating. Avoid it. I'm debating whether I should pursue Road Trip or not.

Bully could have been a defining moment in video games if it weren't so grimy and obnoxious.

Why does the setting have to be the "worst school in the country?" Why do all of the characters have to be caricatures? Why are all of the missions throw-three-water-balloons shit?

Fucking Rockstar.

So, Raw Danger is really great! Yeah, sure, everyone is a blond. Yeah, sure, it's a little buggy. Yeah, sure, the localization is pretty fucking awful. But just like the original (Disaster Report), Raw Danger has a way of putting you into a realistic, dynamic world, and then shaking it up like a snow globe.

I was most impressed by the intro, in which you play a waiter tending to a reception. You're performing fairly pedestrian actions, like bringing food out to a table, and getting a glass of water for a guest. But while you're doing all of these things, you'll notice something fall over, with a gush of water behind it, or you'll see a man inspecting a leak in the ceiling. It's really clever storytelling, and it's surprisingly subtle. You know something's gone wrong, but you keep doing your job. You keep a straight face, until, of course, everything begins to escalate.

The puzzles are environmental in the sense that the environment is actively shifting around you. They're not like, say, ICO or Prince of Persia, because the area around you is not suspended, waiting for you to scale it or figure something out. The game doesn't really want you to wait around; it wants you to continue on the thrill ride. There are some simple, Resident Evil-style puzzles and "save rooms," but they serve to highlight the action sequences, and introduce you to areas soon to fall apart. The pacing is smooth, in that regard, with lulls interrupted by disasters, which are then calmed by lulls.

It's a pretty good game! Definitely different, and definitely well done (outside of the localization).

Dead Rising is probably the best game ever. The last boss is pretty stupid, so I think I'm going to start the whole thing over so I'm at some supremely high level when I get to him again. I feel guilty whenever I turn on the game and I don't do this. Which is why I downloaded the demo.

I am weak.
