For quite some time now, I've been looking for the perfect solution to join MPEG1 files.
I started with Easy Video Joiner. But the joined file would often have a corrupted part on a place where two files joined.
Super Video Joiner is pretty good. The downside is that no matter what settings you use, it always outputs the MPEG as 25 FPS at 320x240. Also, unless you register it, you can only join 2 files at a time.
Next I discovered TMPGEnc, which just concatenates streams of all the files. This often causes a/v sync loss.
Not much later I discovered ProjectX, a Java program that demuxes MPEG files while correcting them. However, often it ouputs a corrupted file for unknown reasons. Still, when it worked, it seemed to work well, but I'm no longer sure. The video and audio streams are never exactly equal, so when you join them there's some slight a/v sync loss.
I contacted the author of ProjectX through the DVBTechnics forum for help. He asked me for some sample files, but refused to help me after I gave him a couple links because he doesn't download from porn sites.
Does anyone here have a better idea than using Windows Movie Maker? I'd prefer to not have WMV as the output format. _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

| I'm going to assume you know all about VirtualDub, being the open-source junkie that you are; I must be wrong in assuming it can work with MPEG-1? |

Yes, I use it to join AVI files. I tried to do the same with MPEG files, but it doesn't look like you can append MPEG sequences. _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!
