The Rogue Galaxy demo really didn't do much for me. The graphics are well designed, certainly, but the frame rate in combat is shitty. The character designs are not especially bad, but they're not particularly inspired either. Points for equipment actually altering your character's appearance, though. The concept of your characters chattering as you wander around the world is initally an appealing one, but after a while, their repeated, vapid commentary is just irritating. Combat is honestly fairly boring, and I was never a fan of having to go into a menu to use special attacks in an action RPG.

However, I suppose if you enjoyed Dark Cloud 2 you'll probably enjoy this game too. I just wish I had actually enjoyed DC2. I really wanted to, but the game just wasn't together enough for me to do it.

So, someone with the full game, does the framerate still drop to like 15fps in combat? That was really, really distracting when I played the demo I acquired and installed on the hard drive. Well, that, and the fact that if you leave the demo paused for like two minutes it will reset even before you reach the 10 or 15 minute maximum for the "running around" part of it. I'm almost tempted to rent the game from Gamefly and give it another chance even though I doubt I'll like it that much.

Well, in the US demo, anyway, it doesn't pause the game when it does it. It just takes up a big part of the screen to tell you to do that stupid guard or wait crap.
