I love how he manages to still shoehorn 9/11 in there somewhere despite it being completely retarded.
A volcano threw up more burning ash than a collapsing skyscaper, Rush? Really? Hot damn that just proves God is pissed!

Indeed.
I've read a few bits of commentary so far that amounted to "The South could easily crush the North thanks to the North basically not having any money and managing to get this far basically based on foreign aid and brainwashing -- if it ever came down do it, the South could curbstomp the North BUT the North knows the South won't do it because they don't want to incur the multi-million-people clusterfuck that is caring for those people who actually live in NK.
I'm not sure I believe this, but it's an interesting point to note. _________________

You know how people who are scared of drugs will say things like "What happens if I take mushrooms and become convinced someone around me is possessed by Satan and I freak out and rip his heart out or something?" and people who've done drugs are like "Man they don't work like that, that can't happen."
Oh hey. _________________

The Jerusalem Post says this:
"During its searches of the Mavi Marmara on Tuesday, the military also discovered a cache of bulletproof vests and night-vision goggles, as well as gas masks. On Monday morning, at least nine foreign activists were killed during the navy’s takeover of the Mavi Marmara, which was trying to break Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip.
The group of over 50 passengers with possible terror connections have refused to identify themselves and were not carrying passports. Many of them were carrying envelopes packed with thousands of dollars in cash."
"Next time we'll use more force"
""We boarded the ship and were attacked as if it was a war," the officer said. "That will mean that we will have to come prepared in the future as if it was a war."
See you guys after World War III _________________

You know, let's say that Israel is telling the truth here. Let's say they did board the ship and were shot at and found a bunch of really shady crap on there that was clearly not for humanitarian aid.
Film it, you fucking idiots. Every other country Sweden does this. And don't film it after the fact, either. Mount cameras to the helmets of your IDF dudes and prove that what's going on there is what you're saying it is in as close to real time as you can manage. Right now you're spouting the international news equivalent of "lol arabs got pwnt". This is not helping.
Maybe they did do this and it's not cropping up in any of the newsfeeds I read? _________________

Amusingly the Reds are in the precarious position of hating Jews, but wanting Israel to win. It's kind of fun to watch. They're kinda waffling between "uuhhhhhh Whatever Obama says it must be the other thing until we get a Republican president who tells us what to say" and just not mentioning it at all and focusing on how the oil spill happened because Obama is from Kenya. _________________

Well...
Although I guess it depends what you mean by "A number of". The nine who got killed, and plus it's a safe bet a few others will vanish along the way if Israel doesn't think anyone will be able to complain about it. _________________

Just because it's a private venue doesn't mean it isn't a free speech issue. |
Wait so you're saying a commercial company shouldn't be allowed to dictate what they allow to be sold on their storefront because Free Speech?
Um.
I mean, I get the sentiment and I think it's lame Apple pulled it, but trotting out the Free Speech panacea doesn't really work here (and kinda comes across as Starbucks Marxist).
If anything you can just turn that logic right around and say they're exercising their own version of free speech by not allowing it to be sold because they, as a company, are against it and want to make a point.
Apple rejects and pulls apps all the time. Anything that seems like a lightning rod for controversy of any kind (or anything that pisses off Steve Jobs personally (not kidding, this has happened)) gets yanked. Hell there's been lots of pretty lengthy articles written up about how on the one hand, Apple's giving this kind of freedom to smaller developers by creating this storefront in the first place, but on the other hand the standing policy boils down to "Adhere to Apple's Vision or Get the Fuck Out" and Apple are pretty unapologetic about this.
If you're gonna take Apple to task for inhibiting the free speech of the people who make their apps for them, this is like the tippity-tip of the iceberg. _________________
