Keanu Reeves is trying to get a Cowboy Bebop live action movie off the ground. At the moment it's supposed to focus on the red eye drug plot of the first episode. I'm not sure how I feel about this.

For example, Reeves aside, it kind of seems like a waste to do a CB movie without the backstory and developments of Jet, Spike and Fay. But on the other hand, wasn't part of the reason the show was so good because the characters worked well together, rather than because of the plot arcs?

Being tragic is still pretty important though, right? They're not gonna ditch that. Right?

Booji still hasn't seen PREDATOR in its entirety.

I may have to beat Booji up one of these days.

Dude, we watched all of predator last summer.

Total Recall is still better.

We are watching that when you are in town, you fuck. Hell, Aren't you in town like tonight? Because we will watch it then.

I can't remember why I said that.

Total Recall is several rungs below Predator.

I will be getting into tonight, but late, like some kind of window of 10-12, depending on traffic.

Cross posted because words just don't do it justice.

Now is probably a good time to tell everyone that they should watch Zardoz.

I agree with you there antitype. The heist interpretation makes the movie a tight and enjoyable ride, even with the Metal Gear/Modern Warfare hiccup. I still find it a little unsatisfactory given that, being a McGuffin in this interpretation, Fischer didn't need nearly so much attention or detail. As everyone else has mentioned of though they really shot themselves in the foot with the children. They almost completely invalidate this take on the film and force you to consider the alternatives. And so far every alternative I can think of kind of sucks.

Even still, it was better than a lot of movies I've seen recently, especially for summer fare, and I can always pretend that it was just a straight up heist flick.

Oh hey, one thing I wanted to ask in case anyone remembers or sees the movie again. I wasn't paying attention but during the airport scene at the end of the movie I thought I saw a security guard appear twice. Which would be further evidence that it was a dream sequence, but I can't be sure if they were really the same person. So, was the guard that checks his passport information and the guard that he checks in with just before leaving the same person?

I didn't really have any desire to see toy story 3. After reading the plot synopsis though it sounds a lot like the Brave Little Toaster. I might take a look just as a comparison.
