I think Stranger Than Fiction might be my favorite movie of last year. I saw it on a plane again recently, and cried during the, "you're asking me to knowingly face my certain death," scene with Hoffman and Farrell.
That scene kicks me in the stomach.

I think I wrote in the Children of Men thread that the cinematographer wanted it to end with uncertainty.

I'm going to go see Speed Racer again.
I wish 15 minutes had been edited out of it, to make it tighter, a little less weird. But there's enough in it that I want to go see it again.

Guys, I saw Antichrist and Paranormal Activity.
Antichrist I give four thumbs up. Entertaining and laughable, awesome and awful. Also, gross. Sometimes.
Paranormal Activity sucked. |

Last night at dinner, a guy who works in the film/tv industry asked me if I saw the new "Pixar trailer for the lizard movie next year." I was baffled; I hadn't heard about Pixar's next project, and had just seen Toy Story 3 -- why wouldn't the trailer have been attached?
Now, I see he was just wrong.

I don't like the Batman soundtracks but I really like Inception's score. Mostly because of the way it played against expectations in the final scene.
