The official GGXX layout is:
- Kick - Slash - Heavy Slash
- Punch - Dust _________________

Thanks, duders. Should Kick be in the A button or B button?
Edit: Wait, dongle are you saying there's a space between P and D? |

Yeah, there's a space between P and D. The layout makes an upside-down U.
Depending on the spacing of your stick, putting K on A might be more accurate. K on B might be more comfortable. Try it out and decide for yourself.
That GIGS link looks like it is a Slash tourney but I don't speak Japanese :(

fill a lane with five of the same symbol. you don't want to let the 'puck' on the right side of the screen touch the bottom. if you fill all the lanes with at least 5, it goes into 'drive' mode where the background and music get trippy and starts to speed up eventually. ambulances/police cars/whatever they are will push the traffic you've piled up onto the right side, thereby shooting up the puck. go for the highest height you can. _________________

Also, what is this? Accent Core is already here, so this isn't another game, is it? Or is it a tournament or something?

Looking at it directly, I'd say it were a series of gigs with live renditions of tracks from the games. |

Back to Lumines.... I think my copy is borked? Sometimes after I play a session, instead of it saving, it asks to load my profile again. Which would, naturally, do away with all the progress I just made. This has happened more than once, and I've already accidentally made the wrong choice, also more than once.
Plus once trying to boot back to the home menu, the game has crashed.
Also, when I first got my memory stick, I simply flat out woudn't save a profile, but the card ended up being a bootleg, so maybe the game is very sensitive? Though for that, I reformatted the card and everything was fine (I have since discarded the copycat and gotten a legit Sony stick).
But that first problem primarily... its very bothersome. Does the game have a reputation with bugs? I can't seem to find any info anywhere. Does the fact that my PSP has been recently hacked to play PSone games and emulators play any part of the wonkiness? _________________

Nope, Lumines just has this annoying precaution of not saving files and reloading the last save. It only happens when you turn the game into sleep mode. I guess the developers thought that some sneaky bastard would swap your memory stick or something if you ever happened to leave the PSP to sleep. _________________

dmauro just told me the same thing. WTF? And that the problem also maybe possibly exists in EEE? Plain awesome. _________________

speaking of Q Entertainment
would Ninety-Nine Nights be worth getting for around $20? i seem to remember the reactions were fairly mixed, with a lot of "it's pretty but just ok." is that fairly accurate? for a price in that region, would it be worth it? |

that seems fairly accurate based on the little i know of it.
well, i've never played a Dynasty Warriors game before, because they always came off sort of "eh" to me. if i have nothing to compare it to, could it be good? it has Mizuguchi appeal. |

Get a USB adapter/tor/tar, but from what I've noticed, you can use the PS2 controller with PS3 games and XMB. PS2 and PS1 games only seem to work with the PS3 controller though. |

I'm thinking it was Don Pachi. I could be wrong, though. _________________

| It's mostly up to interpretation and personal opinion, but I'd say that Batsugun and Battle Garegga are pretty early lead-ins to what you see in modern curtain-fire games. DoDonpachi seems pretty good as far as the model that people have been going by ever since, however. |

| I think of Recca summer carnival 92 as the first manic shooter/bullet hell game, but it depends on which qualities you're looking for. DoDonpachi seems to have been the most influential, many of the traits people expect from the genre are found in it. Batsugun is pretty important too: Toaplan's last release acts as a bridge between their older style and the modern bullet hell genre. |

um. the logitech one isn't bad, but the face buttons start to stick after a while and the d-pad's awful, plus it costs too much.
iirc, there was an (import only) sega pad that was fantastic.. don't really see or hear about them much nowadays though.
EDIT: yeah, this thing. don't know if you can still get one. |

other than the toaplan shmup "vimana", are there any other games based on indian mythology?
also, what good games have a similar "fry's turkish delight"-type look, as in monster world 4? |

| Is there any reason why I should not unplug my Xbox 360 when I'm not using it? Sometimes at night I can see the steady orange glow of that little light on the power brick, and I wonder about how much electricity is being wasted. |
