| I'm not sure what you'd call this, but it's funny. |

Hmmm...despite all the carnage, his notoriety level was still at 0, although that might have something to do with killing every witness.
Man, I remember rigging the barbeque on that level and waiting for my mark to use it, but instead, his wife came out and was burnt to a crisp. I felt kind of bad afterwards. |

Is this forum still generally anti-hitman? Because despite missing a lot of potential, it's a pretty fun game.
The whole game makes me think of a western version of what Metal Gear Solid does, but without as much talent behind it. |

That's pretty much the only thing keeping it from being a great game instead of a good game (still far away from a Great game though). Some of the best level design for the last generation. Some of it is a bit filler, but when you find a good stage it usually ends up being pretty legendary. |

| I'm a big fan of the Hitman games, they really are fantastic fun. They can be a bit silly, but that's what I like about them. Probably the most fun I've had with a stealth focused game. |

Playing hitman right is really hard. Fun, but hard.
Playing it wrong is kinda easy, and ridiculously hilarious. The number of gunfights i got into in hitman 2 that quickly turned into john woo flying bullshit is really high and totoally great. |

Hitman: Blood Money is a pretty fantastic game for the most part. The slightly fuzzy AI is really my only grievance with the game system, and the general level and mission design counters it for the most part(die, paedophilic opera singers).
What Hitman as a series needs most is a strong grounding within a single narrative/storyline/setting with more characters you give a damn about. The amount of globetrotting in the series doesn't really provide any grounding for the characters, and makes the whole concept of moving a Hitman and his armoury around feel very light and meaningless. |

Word. So many fun times with Max Payne 2 and the explosive-filled survival level. |

I want to play Hitman. Should I start with 2, or just go straight to Blood Money? _________________ "Did you read that mr. ignorant new games journalist? YOU JUST DON'T FUCKING GET IT. "

| These are excellent. It's sort of what a video version of Leisuretown would look like. |

Two is a pretty strong entry in the series, if not the strongest.
Avoid Contracts. |

Contracts is a bit of a puzzling game. For one, they improved on everything in the game. Ai was better, Control was better, level design was better and the story was better. One the other hand, there are 1/4 of as many levels in contracts as there are in 2, and those levels are re-makles of most of the levels from the first one. So basicly theres a lot less levels, but the options within them make it posible to play those levels tons of different ways. The problem here is that the difficulty curve starts getting messed up with such few levels. By the end of the game you can still run through the entire level with an assault rifle because the enemies havent gotten as hard as they do in the others. What makes this even worse is that the levels were made so much more complex because of the few that they had, that doing missions the "right" way is much harder than in any of the other games. Having a game that was already having some trouble making the player do it "right", making it even easier and more rewarding to play Rambo while making the puzzles even harder was'nt such a good idea. Contracts is pretty great if you refuse to run n' gun while playing on the hardest setting, but otherwise its just kind of a lesser Max Payne 2.
Whats really interesting about Hitman is thats its the best example of modern games incorporating Point and Click Adventure gameplay. I can't think of any other game that even comes close to matching that same kind of puzzle solving gameplay. Except its more fun because when you inevitably fail, it becomes an awesome John Woo disaster. |

You guys are making me want to go buy Blood Money. I played the 360 demo a few months back, seemed pretty amusing to try and play the level in as different ways as you can.
Better experience on PC or 360? _________________

Two is probably my favourite in the series, but they do improve on this and that in the later games.
The first game is fucking hard and unforgiving, but I still liked it. |

If you've got the hardware capable of running it, I'd say the PC. The main reason being that the mouse/keyboard combo allows for more precise aiming and arguably less fumbling if you're going to quickly pull out a silenced pistol, cap someone, then put it away without anyone noticing. I say arguably on the basis that while you can holster and pull out a weapon in-game, you can also bring up a menu to select your weapon and the game will be paused during that time. |
