I always tend to see stuff like this as part of a formality driven society. Seriously who reads these "critical intros" or whatever except people on these arbitrary boards? It makes me wonder what the hell our education system is doing. Why do we need to bureaucratize work as long as it's good work? Ugh... there's something about upper-middle class recognition that is just insane.
