the problem with that is that selectbutton, unlike insertcredit, doesn't really support spontaneity

EA week (and Ubi Soft too) isn't a bad idea.....although I've been hesitant to name groups who've done more publishing than development (otherwise I would've annoyed you all with an SSI vote).

Jaleco going out reminds me that we've never had an event focused on defunct companies. With such a week, everyone could be free to find some games they love as long as the people that made them officially went under/split apart in a major way: Technos, Sunsoft, Data East, Compile, Dreamforge, maybe even Bullfrog or Origin. It'd be like a 'free' week but with hopefully enough theme to actually catch people's interests.

alternatively, guys, we could drop the "fucking <x> week" bit and maybe have a "WE LOVE <console> WEEK", where starting on the 14th we have a subforum dedicated to a single system and then we can post whatever we want about games (or the system) for it. We've had topics about systems, but I can't think of a time period dedicated to them (except the usual 9/9 business).

If it's something well-known, like the Gameboy or SNES, we could just go wild....or if it's something like the Amiga or maybe Turbo, we could precede the event with some topics by people who would know what they're talking about, telling others how to play the games and what titles definitely need to be checked out.
