YES FOOD IS A GOOD IDEA.
A DAMN GOOD IDEA.
Actually I had a student, because I'm going to work even if they're not fucking paying me, and a student goes, "You're going to Korea? You can eat DOG!"
So it's not just a western stereotype. You fucking dog eating son of a bitch. I bet that's what you mean by good food isn't it? |

I went to Korea! I really don't want to spend a long time in the country! Even a short time was pushing it. The plentiful supply of Smoothie King, Dunkin' Donuts, and delicious korean street food pulled me through.
The Korean food in Tokyo was better than what I had. Except for the restaurant my girl's korean friends took us too. That was fucking delicious. I need to find that here.
I uploaded a bunch of photos.
What I did! I ate a bunch of delicious fucking food. I had Smoothie King and Dunkin' Donuts every chance I had (actually my first time going to a DD and I'm in love.)
I didn't see any historical things in Seoul, pretty much just shopping and giggling like an idiot anytime the train went past Dongjak. I did go to this place about an hour south of Seoul station, Suwon (Suwan?) Fortress. It was pretty cool. Especially since I said fuck the bus and we walked from the station to there (which was actually up a bunch of hills.) Had a really nice view. We got stiffed because someone woman grabbed us by the arms and made us pay to walk around the fortress but it was the equivalent of 3 dollars.
Everything in Korea is moronically cheap!
If it's not moronically cheap, you can bargain to make it cheap. Bargaining really is everything in the country. Trying to shop in the giant all night department stores with literally 2000 shops is a nightmare. The girls' floors were fine. The guys' floors had people screaming AT US (In Japan they just scream in general) in Korean, Japanese, and English, whatever would cause us to look at us for a second. They would also grab you. I didn't find anything in those stores. The air was terrible, the personal space invasion was damn annoying.
Oh wait I did buy a totally sweet tshirt I guess! I also bought really great girl jeans for about 10 dollars. I've finally fullfilled the destiny of owning a pair of girl jeans.
Things that drove me mad
*Dudes getting on the train with loud speakers trying to sell pipe cleaner
*The beggers on the train physically grabbing hands until you got out your wallet/purse and gave them money
*Being in any line and the person behind you literally breathing down your neck, so you move forward and they move to touching the back of your shoes with their's.
* The city is pretty much all slum from what I saw. That wouldn't drive me mad, but hmm.
Things that were great
* How cheap everything was! I mean none of the street food cost more than a 3 dollars. I got a medium pizza (American small) for 5 dollars WITH toppings!
* The younger Korean generation is pretty cool.
* Korea gets every game Japan doesn't get (Silent Hill:Homecoming, Force Unleashed PS3, Jak 3 (yeah))
I didn't buy any games though. I did go to the electronics district (because it was that or more dudes screaming at us and my girl couldn't give me a single thing to do instead.) I don't think we got to the real district but the two giant mostly empty buildings with shops near the station (we never actually went outside) had game stores but none of the games had prices and half of them didn't have employees. Would of liked Shadow of the Collosus in a language I utterly don't understand!
But how is Korea?
Well, when you get to your hotel room, lock the fucking door.

I imagine this is invented by people that have never eaten dog and are appalled by the idea. I didn't eat dog. |

Greng I had work this day and I gave every student Kimchee Chocolate.
It's exactly as awful as you think it is. |
