the Message is "butts" haha it's funny because it's juvenile and retarded xd
see, look, it's hilarious
this sort of indie game is really what's pushing the industry and the artform forward, I tell you. why do I need big-budget AAA soulless corporation productions like Halo 4 when I can just click links in my web browser while ambient YouTube noise plays in another tab until I get to such a deafeningly witty punchline as pictured
thank you L, I look forward to all the other fantastic hyperlink-clicking experiences you'll post about. this was a very valuable usage of my time and I hope others can appreciate this brilliance game of the year 2012

also just how juvenile is this post? ? and for the sake of all that is anything, if you really think it is kosher to use "retarded" as a slur in the year of our lord twenty-twelve you got another thing coming for you, buckaroo banzai.
i mean honestly, pal, c'mon, please. work on it, just try and work on it. a lot of us use that word, i use the word sometimes but i try to correct myself and i'm phasing it out of my language right now
you should too. if only to, y'know, make this lil sphere of ours a better place. _________________

I am using "retarded" to describe something which is retarded, not someone who. It wouldn't be improper to describe someone who if that were indeed the case and it was the correct social context to acknowledge the state of things as they are. Regardless, the story is retarded, and I do not feel at all imprecise or disingenuous or unnecessarily offensive by using that term.
It doesn't bother me much at all. The link evaporated from my mind the moment I hit submit, and now again I have to deal with the consequences of acknowledging things as they are, or as I see them.
If I could only recommend one more game for the rest of my life, it would be Starseed Pilgrim
Imagine if Fez was all in 2D and had a super-addictive and original logic game as the main mechanic, rather than jumping and rotating. Then you basically have the flavour of it.

am i correct in thinking that the only way for the depressed character to flip is to commit suicide? _________________ ♪ x x x ♫ x x x ♫ x ♫ ♫
Paper Galaxy, a game I've been working on for the last 6 months, is now live on the Canadian app store, doin' one of them "soft launch in Canada" things. So, if you have a Canadian iTunes account, please check it out!

can... can I use this quote on the website
i will even include the link; it will recursively link to itself
Yeah yeah, it seems like just another indie Sokoban, but halfway through you get to selectively corrupt parts of the game, and at that point the gloves are off.
Mikey: hi! thanks :3 please do so. may your backlog last exactly long enough to satisfy (so, forever, maybe)
Let me know what you think when you get to them maybe? If you remember to? x)
Hi Droqen come back I want to tell you that I like Probability 0 a lot. I haven't played the other games from your bundle yet, though.
Oh man! Awesome :3
I hope you continue to enjoy it FOREVER, and I hope you like the rest of the games in the bundle! Do your best to try and find someone/someones fun to play Pirattitude with, too n_n
...and my response is more or less the same as with Hydorah! Though I did enjoy this one more.
Locomalito is so incredibly eager to outright tell you that it's a classic retro arcade game woo! and then it plays nothing like what was actually good from the era games and focuses on the lame parts in design, not well thought out.
Both games are obnoxiously patronizing. Played through to a bad ending after about an hour and a half. Seriously fuck that "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO CONTINUE YOU'RE CREDIT FEEDING!!" shit. Yes I can gather the real purpose of that but practicing games via single credits only inching a few screens before starting over is the dumbest thing. Fuck that Pikachu shit, you might as well be grinding in JRPGs instead of bitching about them not being your ideal experience.
I don't want to complain too much because free games. It's certainly a polished sound and visual.

I'm not outright disagreeing with you, but what games similar to Maldita Castilla from the target era would you consider superior? The reasons you and I ultimately don't enjoy the game are likely much the same, but I don't think things would be any different with most actual arcade games, which I also generally don't enjoy without savestates (speaking of which, I wonder if I could get Hourglass to work with MC).
congrats, L. I guess?
tell me what the most mechanically advanced Twine game is, please
I admit that I really need to go back and play a bunch honestly to see which I tend to enjoy most.
The dumb 4am half awake answer; GnG seemed kinda like it's own thing though I was mainly talking about elements within the games more than the whole. GnG had much more sense of surprise and wonder down to the game hiding chests that may or may not be traps all the time. Capcom games tended to have a literal sense of change or growth as the game progressed with your avatar; you'd fight for that gold armor or you'd level up and get a more armored sprite or your weapon would be bigger, take up more space. Enemies were HUGE, not so much little guys with projectiles (though they were definitely there.)
It's obvious that the console revisions ports or remakes tended to iron out the concepts. Limited to arcades I tend to like the Shinobi-likes better though that's not very close at all. Seems fitting that the dagger is the weapon of choice with most people playing GnG as you can fire as much as you like and it feels great to do so. Even with the useless weapons there was still wonder toward what the charge attacks will look like, will they be useful at all? With Maldita Castilla, all the weapons are limited, samey, never much stronger or weaker than your sword which you'll probably get back soon enough anyway. It's become more methodical especially since enemies no longer have weapon drops. Not even neat doll idol things, now it's boring coins so unless there's some secret special attack or trick (other than what seemed like enemies dropped a coin if you managed to hit them in the back or just with the returning sickle or something gimmicky) it all ends up feeling like a big ol' bland nerf.
Looking at Capcom's other platforming with shooting arcade games, I'm not sure if they quite picked up on what felt good in these kinds of games or if they did but couldn't test it well enough given how much of a nightmare it prolly was to work for the company.

Don't know why you think this about Hydorah, it's great (yes, the checkpoints are horrid and the bosses are dull) and is basically exactly like Gradius Gaiden (minus the powerup bar).
VHS. The Action 52 aesthetic taken to the extreme. "Baile de Formatura Cibernético dos Brinquedos" is surprisingly easy to play - just move to any square that isn't orthogonally adjacent to the guys.
This was on the GDC Pirate Kart but I must've missed it.
