Just finished the game. I thought they did a very good job with it. A few of the puzzles made me doubt my intelligence (the ones where you slide things around or match things up, I mean), but that's okay.

Some of the music is really nice. I'm glad I pre-ordered and got the soundtrack.

After finishing the game, I had to go back and see what happens if you don't defuse the bomb in time, since that seemed to be a place where you can actually die (and you do). I wonder if there are any other such parts.

Finished Machinarium as well. On the whole, quite lovely. I don't mind that it was in large part constructed out of blatantly "puzzley" segments. In fact I enjoyed the discreteness of it, and it fit the game's atmosphere well.

I loved that there was at least one puzzle that you had to fail at to advance.

Yeah that took me a while. I think I got them all right three times in a row before I figured it out.

As I mentioned in another thread, I just played through Full Pipe and was very impressed with it. The art style is unique and fun and the character interactions are amusing.

Some of the puzzle solutions aren't very intuitive, but then again, that's also true of some of my all-time favorite games of this type, such as Day of the Tentacle.

I played whatever its previous version was, a demo or beta or something. It was quite beautiful but also sort of boring.

that video is awesome

http://nottheinternet.com/hell/

Fight the ghosts of those that have come before by moving in two dimensions and shooting missiles. The fiercer you fight, the harder it shall be for those that come after. How much past can you cope survive before you are overwhelmed?

"So the guy I'm fighting is actually a recording - a recording of a fight against a recording of a fight, all the way back to the beginning of time?"

cool. I've been waiting for this game since I dreamed about playing it in an arcade 15 years ago. The girl in this is almost as moe as the girl in the game in my dream. They're also making it for XBLIG; I'll download the XBLIG version tonight and give it a whirl.

Ge.ne.sis is pretty fun if you like challenging strategy RPGs. It plays kind of like Fire Emblem with a little bit of Persona added in, although the kind of tactics involved differ (sacrificing characters is often a good strategy here). The aesthetics are nice, although the plot and dialogue are a bit dull.

Wow, what a neat trick! The zoom out stuff makes the game. How many other games do cool things with their perspective?

The level design also felt very organic despite rugged pixel design. Whoever did this is a pretty gifted...architect, I guess?

So, this is Au Sable. It's a ghost story? About a hanging? Possibly even a lynching? And the guns are real but the things pulling the triggers aren't? Also it's Gradius.

The art and game mechanics are marvelous! The ending made me think the protagonist was imagined by the author as a crying girl, though :\

It's... not very good. Bizarre difficulty curve decisions make you essentially have to start over all the time.
