| Continuity needs symbols to indicate which sides are compatible. The trial and error it takes to figure that out just delay the point you can actually start solving the puzzle. |

The sides are compatible if the edges match!!!
Why does no-one who ever links this game ever remember to mention this? |

I really want to like this, but I just don't know. The chief gimmick just comes off as too annoying.
Where the hell did this come from anyway? I thought Nifflas was supposed to be doing Night Game. |

Looks like it to me.
I really liked it. I started out trying to find something, but after a bit I was really just playing. _________________

| The Color Tuesday is a cute little RPG about a girl with synesthesia who fights evil aliens with the power of imagination, somewhat reminiscent of Earthbound and maybe also A Wrinkle in Time. |

pretty neato. one of the better "very little game but a dozen different endings try to get them all" games, which I generally dislike. the ending was a letdown, though. _________________

Yeah; I like the idea of having a character with a daily routine the player has to constantly think of different ways to alter, and I wish it was something more games gave you the option of doing. The only other example I can think of is 9:05, which is really more of a practical joke than a game. _________________

| Kongregate has a demo of Terry Cavanagh's (Don't Look Back, Pathways, Judith) VVVVVVVVV. Every year it seems like we get a big indie game right around the beginning of January. This is that game. I have some reservations about it (namely, a very open reliance on surprise deaths, and a maybe-needless story), but this is one of those games that you can tell the creator had a blast making. And even if you get nothig out of the game, it has a totally bitchin soundtrack. |

| I don't think you'll regret it. But then, I paid $60 for it on preorder to help Terry out with his financial woes. |

I'm sorry. I still feel bad for bitching about that, but at this point, almost no games on XBLIG cost that much. |

Interview with Loren Schmidt, creator of Star Guard.
Unsurprisingly, was influenced by Edgar Rice Burroughs' Barsoom books.

It's cool. It wasn't about you, it was mostly about the back pain. :) And it was also a little bit about me being unimpressed with VVVVVVV.
But very very soon I will lower the price, which means I really need to get off my (broken) ass and make the ad for it, which I'm hoping will couple with the price drop to give it a boost in sales (or at least demo plays!) |

I wonder if it wouldn't be prohibitive for a one-man team to get a game on Steam, without being an award-winner or having external funding of some sort. Not that I'd mind seeing you try anyway. _________________

at this very moment I'm looking at fastspring (which Mechanarium and Nifflas's new game use) and payloadz (which Tale of Tales uses). _________________

It doesn't even need to be on Steam. I just don't think the Xbox is a good place for any sort of indie game. It's not the market at all. And even if someone is interested in these games, basically the only course of action is to open up that page on their dashboard and stare at a giant list of games. It's better if you just have a PC version on a website or something. That's where the people that play these games are, and that allows for a greater degree of intimacy. |

Flotilla is looking good. Coming out for PC and XBLIG.
If you're not familiar with Blendo Games already, be sure to check out Citizen Abel: Gravity Bone primarily as well as Grotto King if you're feeling nostalgic. His older projects are also worth a look if you've got copies of Half-Life and Half-LifeČ available.
And hey, in a fit of cluefulness, the Guardian has an article on indie gaming and how we might be seeing a potential revival in the Britsoft spirit that permeated bedroom programming back in the 80s.
And Darwinia+ finally has a release date attached to it; February 10th. |

The Wiiware game Toki Tori is now available for PC through Steam. It's on sale for USD $3.75. I played it quite a while back, and I liked it.
