|
|
Everyday at work (and home) I've been skimming the official KE3 thread to see the new developments but most of what is talked about is who is coming. There were quite a few good ideas in the previous threads but no solid events have been established yet.
Having prior experience with planning sizable events that are 1-2 days I can tell you that for everything to lock solidly into place you need about 3 or more months of good planning. Well, it is now less than three months away and the event is 5 DAYS LONG!!
After talking with Smartblue and getting his approval I am self-assigning the duty of Event Coordinator to help get the job done. I'm not here to steal the spotlight except for a title and instead am here to do the grunt work to pave the way for the magnificent event hosted by John, Joe, and Smartblue. I will answer to them and their decisions will be final on all matters. I will also be making press badges and event brochures for the event (and maybe even a grab bag of cool swag for each of the attending members).
Now, there are 3 stages that we need to go through to get events lined up into place. Brainstorming, Polling, and Time Scheduling. Brainstorming will be thinking up events that we would like to have and finding out what needs to be brought and who can bring what. Polling with be assessing the events that we will have lined up into place and voting which ones we want to see most and perhaps which days would be best for holding those events. Time Scheduling will be assigning those events to work with the days that we have alloted for events so that there are a broad spectrum of events taking place at different times to help keep the upbeat atmosphere. I'm sure there will be some timeslots that are marked SECRET to give John, Joe, and Smartblue time to have events that they would like to keep a surprise. In Time scheduling we will also have signups so that we can determine who would like to participate in what event to help block out the appropriate amount of time.
Now, on to the Brainstorming. I've reviewed the various threads and have determined that people would like to see the following at the event:
PS1 Demo kiosks as well as other Demo stations
Best Friends of the Century Tournament 2
DDR Tourney
Neo Geo Tourney (generic)
Neo Geo / other platforms KOF Tourney
Go out to see different Louisville sites.
Opening Ceremonies / Closing Ceremonies
Downtime for generic gaming
Partying
Video Viewing (of random things)
Go ahead and submit your ideas for what you would like to see at this event, what it will need, and what you can bring.
Thanks! |

| Jello is pretty cheap and you can probably buy it in mass quantities at Sam's club. We could atleast fill a sizeable kiddie pool with it. |

Now, to stay on track, more ideas? Got 5 days to fill! What do you want to see? |

| Yeah, there is a really huge turf of land behind the house that would be perfect for this. Just don't get run over by the train. = P |

The brainstorming portion will soon end so get in your ideas! We'll have the polling and scheduling section soon. I'll officially close the brainstorming at the end of this sunday. |
