i would just like to point out here that fort90 is wrong. yeah that's right bitch. the camera in the e3 build of sonic and the secret rings did not follow sonic most of the time. it was really crazy and (usually) fixed, and probably what made the graphics so nice to look at. the camera was the one big thing i noticed. and i had played the demo many, many, many numbers of times (i still have the layout memorized in my head). the recent videos of the updated version of the level found in the e3 demo had the same camera angles. so |
Okay, the original build did have lots of crazy camera angles and movements. But what I played was literally 30 times more. _________________

Ewwww. Yuck. Vocal tracks should not be video game stage music unless you are Power Instinct Matrimelee (enka stage FT-MFing-W). |
So it really is Sonic R 2. |

I played Sonic Heroes a lot. Completed everything. Got A on everything. It was the most fun game I had played in a long time. The team system was a fun idea.
I think the problem that most people had is that the game is fast. If you're too reckless, you'll fly off the platforms or make a bad jump. After you get used to the game, you don't have this problem anymore.
Except for one stage, can't remember which, there is no "falling through the floor" bug that so many people mention. Maybe the ones who created this anecdote were trying to excuse their bad skills.
Or maybe the EU version is just superior. _________________ Get Xenoblade Chronicles!

so the game officially sucks now?
the ultra biased nintendo power wrote a rather compelling preview. The idea is nice, and they said that there weren't any camera issues because the you'd always be moving forward so the camera would always be behind you. |

| This looks interesting but probably too little too late. Also the next Wii game I have to buy is going to be something fucking stellar - any more mediocrity or dissapointment and them shits go out of the window. |

I don't care about the bugs (though it wasn't exactly a stable game). I care about the terrible level design. I mean, a game made entirely out of Sonic Adventure's Sonic stages sounds wonderful, but it's kind of implied that we wanted the levels to be at least as good as those ones as well. As it is, Sonic Heroes' stages are just a couple design elements each repeated over and over for far too long without any interesting variations, or any interesting mechanics to play with on the way. Even if the game's code were tighter than a nun's ass, it still wouldn't redeem the dull gameplay. |
