I posted The Happiest Monster as a joke, but the more I think about it, the more I want to see exactly that. A game that invokes a pet-like bond with something, followed not by a tear-jerking moment where the pet dies, but a sudden reversal, because what the hell you're still making friends with something wild, and that is what happens in the real world. Everyone would think, "Hey, what is this, a joke?" And some would take it as such. But it would be so much more surprising.
