they are clear so that when in very windy and rainy weather (common in japan in spring), which causes near horizontal rain, you can walk with the umbrella like a shield and still see where you are going.
I found this out while live on the scene guys.

I had some of them at the range, but they must have been lost with time.
I am not so much a gun enthusiast. I find the mechanical artistry of the weapons to be quite interesting, and...well I was almost in the Marines or Air Force out of highschool because of my expert marksmanship. But since I am not male I doubt I would have been allowed to be much of a weapons specialist. |
marksmanship is a pretty respectable thing in the airforce, actually. because MANY people have no feel for weapons and can't shoot for shit. even self proclaimed outdoorsman and hunters can't turn in a decent M16 score, and forget an M-9 score.
if you go security forces, and score well, you'll get to shoot a lot of stuff. but its crappy job.
be a TACP, a SEER, or a combat controller (maybe same as TACP) and you get to do all of the badass stuff. women are definately allowed. you just have to pass the initial fitness test. when you do, there isn't any yanking around like, ok, you passed--goodjobwe'llgetbacktoyou. when you pass those, you are IN. and as a women, you'll get beat-up more in training as a way to psyche out the guys into screwing up in order to save a female comrade. TACP also jump out of airplanes, like all the time. |

don't get a fucking saturday night special. if you're wanting a gun to use, that's not just for show get something more practical, like a semi-auto.
i'm a fan of rifles myself. my dad and myself own a few. used to use them when we went hunting, if we didn't use our bows.
i know it's cliche but i really would like to own a ww II era m1. they're such pretty guns. but, since i'm not fucking rich it's sort of hard to purchase one. |

Glocks are super-reliable but absolutely styleless. Mook guns. Of course if your gun is for practical purposes it's tough to do better.
Revolvers are not useless; large-caliber revolvers are the best hunting pistols out there, because they are preposterously reliable and can chamber larger rounds with less kick (no massive slides rocking back on every shot). Small-caliber revolvers, yeah, they're pretty useless, unless you're a farmer or cowboy and need a utility pistol to carry around in the bush all day in which case once again the reliability can be nice.
They allow women on the front lines in the Air Force? Intruiging!

*my camera takes noisy pictures all the time, and the lighting is bad, but that jaket is greener than it appears, with little stripes on it that are orange, darker green, and light blue. The tie is orange with some brown and a little bit of light blue. |

I usually wear what I want. the most noteable thing about it are the pants that i wear. I picked up some Japants in japan, and also have occasionally found some good pants here in the states as well. after getting these pants, I then usually find some shirt or upper garment to go with it that is sutably not-what-you-see-everyday here.
it usually gets me compliments from girls, and weird looks and weirdo comments from doods. but I don't care, I like what I like. |

I can't really use hair products because they clog my pores. I don't really need to though anyways because a day or two of natural head greese allows my hair to "stay" pretty much the way I want it while maintaining a reasonably natural look.
Though occasionally if I feel like I really need bomb proof perfect hair I'll spray hairspray all over my hands and then rub it on my head and shape my hair real quck before it dries. The hairspray doesn't clog my poors so much because I don't get overspray on my face this way and once it dries it doesn't have much of a chance to rub onto my face or make its way through sweat. |
