I like film, partly because a digital camera matching the quality of my 35mm costs more than twice as much.

And partly because darkrooms are awesome.

I also like the things you can do with film before it is ever taken out of the camera.

Digital isn't just THE WAY OF THE FUTURE, it is another way of doing things, and I like that, too.

But when it comes down to it, it's all about cropping out the world to capture a small rectangle of life to reflect what's on your mind in that fraction of a second.

always flashes me back to a conversation i had with my father at five years old -- these were important lessons in the basics of living which always found me near tears and swearing i'm right.
